the older lady taking orders was very rude. i came yesterday and ordered a fruity pebble avalanche and it was white (like normal vanilla ice cream) and tasted like normal vanilla ice cream, but when i went and got one today with my boyfriend and it was given to us, it was bright pink and did not taste the same at all and when i went to let the woman know she cut me off before i could even finish explaining so in frustration i went back to my car, my boyfriend convinced me to go get another and see if it was the same he ordered for me first asking what comes in the avalanche and she proceeded to say “it’s just vanilla ice cream and fruity pebbles” while mean mugging him so he bought me another just for it to come out the exact same (bright pink and tasted nothing like vanilla) me and my boyfriend were so frustrated we just decided to leave rather than cause a scene my boyfriend believes that they put their raspberry flavoring in it because the woman told us as rudely as possible (when she cut me off) that they didn’t have strawberry so all in all this woman deserves to lose her job or to not be the one who interacts...
Read moreIt breaks my heart to review my neighborhood ice cream parlor so poorly, but after multiple letdowns regarding posted hours I feel it’s fair. We live down the road and walk up regularly with our dog and baby and always make it a point to bring family members when they’re in town. Awesome… except the terribly unreliable hours and staffing. While today wasn’t the first time this has happened, actually the third this year, here’s a summary of our experience.
1.) Leave home 2.) Walk to Kool Moo 3.) See large sign after onto Old Marion Road from 100+ feet away with posted hours (closing at 10p) 4.) Approach window at ~9:07p 5.) Be advised they’ve closed at 9p as people are still waiting to receive their orders at the window 6.) Leave disappointed
Note: The ice cream is 5 stars as long as you can get it.
I do understand I’m complaining, but I believe it’s not hard to manage an ice cream parlor with nuance. There wasn’t a line, you can see people have walked up (social queues, note the dog and stroller), and being customer focused doesn’t take more than being situationally aware. Hoping for better luck...
Read moreSupposed to be open, owner updated hours a week ago. We drive over and no lights, nothing. So NOT open.
Updated to respond to owner's response: There was no sign on the actual store, where I was. There was no update on your Google business page. I would have no idea what your Facebook page is or to look there.
I would love to review your actual offerings if you were open when you said you were open -- that was my whole purpose for going there!
PS: Your Facebook said your family was at the State Fair, which is a perfectly legit reason to be closed. But you can't assume everyone has Facebook (or any other single outlet.) You have to post as many places as you operate: The physical store, Google Business, Instagram, whatever. You never know where a customer is or isn't following you, or what accounts they don't have.
I will update my review to 3 stars so it doesn't damage your ranking as much, but it was very disappointing experience. Just an FYI that you need to be more thorough in your...
