WineStyles Tasting Station — Restaurant in Cedar Rapids

The sign should read "Club Members Only" If you are not a member, good luck with getting service. That's the vibe of the night.

When asking about getting a bottle of Riesling, she just pointed to the wall where they were. No discussion on whether you have been here before (been 4 years) or for the wine, prefer sweet, semi-sweet , etc.

Since the wine was off the shelf, she said they would chill it. Great we thought; until we sat there ; awkward. No conversation on do you want to be members or what kind of wine do you like (sales people, aka money) or would you like a sample of a wine you might not otherwise try with a whole bottle. Again, an opportunity for a sale.

Side note: The Riesling chosen was a winner. No one asked if we liked it. Just pitiful all the way around.

So not very knowledgeable or service motivated for being in the wine business.

Disappointing and will not be spending any...

We stopped in to Winestyles to scope out their chocolate counter. We were the only patrons. The interior was dark and not in an atmosphere-y way. More as if less lights were turned on while trying to decide to stay open the posted hours. A single counter person did not offer suggestions when we mentioned it was our first visit, a hint that would have been a perfect opportunity to "sell" the place, but no information was forthcoming. Service was abrupt and hurried with no smile nor friendly welcome. All that being said, the chocolate was very good. There were a nice selection of varied choices from truffles to toffee to chocolate dipped oreos. It looked as if there was a very complete array of wine choices and beer. I have been a handful of times and have had nothing but a positive experience! I recently went for a winery spotlight wine tasting and they were experiencing technical difficulties when I first arrived. However, they promptly fixed the issue and offered complimentary tasting to make up for it. Totally unnecessary but amazing customer service!! They have amazing food, wine, and beer-HIGHLY recommend the crushberry beer and the pizzettes. Overall, 10/10 atmosphere, service, and products. Great place to enjoy...
