Livelys BBQ and Breakfast — Restaurant in Cedartown

Even though we live less than 20 minutes away, this was our first time eating at Lively's, but it certainly won't be our last! We were very impressed with this cute little BBQ and breakfast joint located at the end of Cedartown's downtown area.

We had breakfast, and it was down-home delicious! My husband said his bacon was cooked perfectly and the biscuits were done up just right! The lady who took our order at the register was super friendly, helpful, and patient. She let me substitute tomatoes for the meat on my breakfast platter, with no issue at all. A lot of places cause such a fuss if you ask for some smaller item in place of the meat, but she happily did it for me...and let me just tell you, that tomato was vine-ripe yummy cut up in my biscuit and gravy! Our daughter also enjoyed her jelly biscuit and breakfast potatoes very much.

The inside of the adorable cabin was clean and charmingly decorated with a wholesome Southern bbq/pig theme. The drive thru window stayed busy with a steady flow of customers the whole time we were there, so apparently it's no secret that this little gem is a local favorite. We will be...

Stopped at this hole in the wall barbecue place on our way to Alabama. What a little gem. You can see the smoker in front of the small restaurant. The place feels warm and inviting. Very rustic. The owner gave us plenty of time to make up her mind. We ordered the beef plate and the pulled pork plate. They do not have brisket but the beef was just as good if not better. The place was packed, it was around 11:30. I also noticed a steady stream of people going through the drive-through. Our food arrived quickly. I loved the large selection of barbecue sauces that were available. The one labeled “Shack” is an absolute hit. The food could have been a bit warmer but overall the quality was good. The Brunswick stew resembled more a soup than a stew, a few more ingredients would’ve been great.The owner came out and asked if everything was OK. Very friendly and attentive. Everytime we drive through Cedartown we have to come here. Everytime we have family or friends visit we bring them here.

They have THE BEST slaw-b-que sandwich. It's a barbecue sandwich (either pulled pork or chicken ) with coleslaw on it. Even people that normally don't like coleslaw love thus sandwich. I haven't tried their breakfast yet but I've heard it's also very good.

Staff is always friendly and efficient.

Update today: 7/28/18 Came in today with friends and family Service is still good, I always get the slawbque sandwich, my favorite sauce is the Darbi sauce though they have South Carolina sauce, and classic sauce and a "shack" sauce.

Wife had a bbq salad, which she liked. Kids had a rib sandwich which they said was very good. Friends had Brunswick stew which was not good, and the other had a burger which she didnt like. So I have to lower my rating down to 4 from previous 5. I still love the...
