Overall not a great experience. We have been many times. Have spoken to the grandsons and always want to support local. However tonight was just not what we have come to know. We ordered an appetizer of garlic bread. Server said we could do 1/2 and 1/2. Garlic and cheese. It came out correctly but when bill came it added to $16 for 6 pcs of bread. We pointed it out to her and she asked if it was okay that it was $6 more than the menu price. I should not have to ask for the correct pricing based on her error. My husband ordered a side of fries and my daughter ordered cheese sticks. The cheese sticks never came out. He had to ask about the fries, she forgot. My other daughters house salad have no croutons as menu listed. Our entrees was mediocre at best. The carrot cake was (per usual) amazing!
Then when it came time to settle out bill. She presented us with one bill, but charged us higher. She said she accidentally put a beer on there. They did fix it but my family said this was their worst dining experience in over 6 months…..and we dine out a lot. I am sorry to see that it has decreased in both quality and service. It was not a staffing issue either as there were only 3 total tables in the restaurant, including us. There were 4 servers, a host and a bartender on duty. The bar top was full. Maybe that’s where the good service is?
Thank you for reading and hopefully you take this...
Read moreWent here a bunch as a kid and sadly just found myself years later curious about this place. A Niehgbor of ours owned it for years and now the original family has bought it back. Joe spent some time chatting with us while we were there which was really nice seeing an owner involved like that. Now to the food. It was great! My wife got a pepperoni green pepper pizza which had a great crust and they even hide the ingredients under the cheese. I got the sampler which also was very good. Their red sauce is very nice. But before we even got our great meal we had to of course try the garlic knots which were probably the best I’ve had. I highly suggest getting them when you visit. To top this story off, Joe asked us I desert was going to be had and I replied whatcha got. He simply said my grandmas Carrot Cake is his suggested. I said sold and a couple minutes later this delicious large cut cake showed up and the taste left us speechless to how delicious it was! I’m not sure what magic they baked it with, but whoa. So we plan on visiting much sooner now that I’ve reminded myself of this place and will probably stop by to just get some of that cake… My wife said I had to share however and bring it home. Anyway, just wanted to put my two cents in since it had been such a long time visiting....
Read moreIt had been many years since we'd been back to this location, no reflection on the restaurant. And we had forgotten what we've been missing. The dishes were astonishingly good, especially the pasta with vegetables and oil.
That pasta dish was even more wonderful than a similar dish that we used to have at our other local favorite, Mama Roma's -- and that's saying something. Now that Mama Roma's is sadly gone, we will be coming back to GeJo's more often.
As ever, the waitstaff were outstanding. Our server, Jackson, was delightful: friendly, gracious, humorful, and extremely knowledgeable & competent. He is a terrific asset to the restaurant.
And from what we observed, all the customers were pleased with their servers as well.
We remember that GeJo's was always known for their pizza, not just their pasta dishes. And given that most of the tables were ordering and devouring pizza, it apparently is still outstanding.
As someone else noted, GeJo's is a true hidden gem. I never see ads for them anymore, but somehow, word gets around.
Low prices, generous portions, superb food, and friendly atmosphere -- who would have thought such a genuine locale delight would be tucked inside a suburban residential office park.
We are thrilled to have...
