Very odd experience here. As we walked in and waited to be seated, the staff saw us and didn't greet us or acknowledge us at all. Once we finally sat, we asked for a children's menu, the waitress tells us they "don't have one, but can make anything on the menu into a kids portion." So my youngest asked for chicken strips and immediately the waitress says "We can't do that in a kids size." Uummm what? You literally just said you can make anything into a kids size.... So we just get him the adult size and figure we'll take the rest home. Takes a while to get our food and when she brings it out she tells us the cook is still working on my son's chicken strips. So, we wait cuz we don't want to eat in front of him.... 10 MINUTES goes by and we have to flag down the waitress, and she says it should be out shortly. A few more minutes goes by and finally it's brought out. The whole time the staff keeps giving us weird looks and just acting rude. Seems like they just want their locals to eat there and no one else. Food wasn't even that good, sweet tea wasn't sweet. And when we were done eating we sat for idk how long waiting for the waitress to come by so we could ask for a to go box. Anytime she walked by she didn't even look at us, but asked her other tables if they needed anything. Then it took forever for her to bring our check. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. And I'll make sure to tell everyone I know how this place treats ppl that aren't their...
Read moreTraveling through Carrollton with my mom the Candlewood Hotel recommended Heartland Hill Restaurant, as I too previously previewed many favorable reviews and was looked forward to breakfast. Food was very good...my veggie omelette was full of vegetables and my mom's French toast was awesome (I sampled and would definitely recommend.)
I am writing to affirm our experience was very welcoming. The staff are all very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Many of the local customers greeted us, and while I received a traditional "morning", my mom was greeted with a "good morning" from the locals.
The ambiance of Heartland Hill Restaurant is that of a local diner and our first experience was...
Read moreWe went on a busy Saturday morning last week. There were 12 in our party. The girls working there had a look of shock at first, then they just did their thing. They served an absolutely packed dining room with smiles on their faces. They did it via teamwork. One took our order. Another came with cold drinks. Another was in charge of hot drinks. Our order was out before we knew it, delivered by yet another girl. The food was delicious and hot. The service was second to none. Go have a lovely breakfast with the friendly, efficient wait staff at Heartland Hill. It will...
