UPDATE: Made a return trip today and the experience was as awesome as the first. The aesthetics of the multiple brick arches, the extremely cool ceiling, and the beautiful bar itself are unlike any other place I have seen.
The service was fantastic. Kelsee, our server, was kind, attentive, and efficient, which was also true of the other employees who assisted her.
The food is excellent! Our Margherita Pizza ($13 w/mozzarella, basil, grape tomatoes) was great again. My father-in-law's E-Star Burger ($14 w/mushrooms and caramelized onions) looked outstanding and he said it was very good. I highly recommend the fries, which are probably my favorite anywhere right now. My Mausolus Stout ($6 16oz) tasted amazing. And our Jody's Apple Dumpling ($8) to finish things off was terrific.
Throw in I realized today that the menu-listed prices include taxes and that for every beer you order, you receive a small disc/chip to place into a container for 1 of 5 different charitable groups they have set up to support, I so wish we lived closer to be regulars here.
The only 2 knocks we have would be: (1) don't love the exposed light bulb fixtures over each of the tables and (2) wish they had more non-meat menu offerings for my pescatarian wife like a veggie, fish, or shrimp based item.
I realize they are proud of their Centerville home, but maybe they could open another site an hour or so west?
Coming from the Indy area, we have family in Richmond and decided to try this place out when we were at a church across the street in Centerville. I have a strong suspicion we will be visiting again.
From the outside on the main street, it doesn't necessarily stand out. But once we walked in the front door (which I wasn't even confident if it was as we were going up the steps), it was an explosion of eye candy with the brick walls, multiple arches throughout, and an amazing physical bar along the east side of the structure. Without even trying the food, I was hooked.
Emma was our server and she was great. My wife and I split a Margherita Pizza ($13), which was a standard thin crust of 12-14" and tasted pretty good. My sister-in-law chose a Quinoa Salad ($12). which was a substantial size and looked real good. My father-in-law ordered a Breaded Chicken Sandwich with fries ($12), which he said was very good and the fry I stole was excellent as well.
We didn't partake of their beverage options, but I was pleased to see that they had 2 stout options on their list, so that will definitely be on my short list for the next visit along with further investigating the rest...
Read moreHad a wonderful dinner at 5 Arch this last Friday evening. For appetizers, we had pretzel bites and chips and salsa -- they were as expected, nothing extraordinary, but good. They don't have an extensive menu, but what they have is done very well. I got the burger with brie, candied bacon, and a berry preserve AND IT WAS DELICIOUS. Loved it. The fries are really good, hot and crisp. My husband got a more traditionally topped burger and like it a lot, too. My dad got a chicken sandwich and raved about it. My mom got a gluten-free pizza (just because she likes the really thin, crisp texture of it) and we all tried it. It was also really good.
Having always wanted to try brussels sprouts and seeing them on the menu, roasted in bacon, ghee, and garlic, I figured that was as good as they could get. I am really glad I tried them. I'm not sure brussels sprouts will now be my favorite veg, but if you like them, you will LOVE THEM at 5 Arch.
Can't wait to go back. Great vibe, wonderful service, outstanding food. Please continue to patronize this establishment whether you are a local or just passing through...
Read moreWe used to be regulars at 5 Arch Brewing Company. We were there Atleast once of not twice a week. The last several times we have gone the service has been awful and the food hasn’t been as good as it used to be. At one instance we asked for a high chair the high chair was broke and we didn’t realize it. We put our one year old in it and she slid out of it. No one came over to the table at all and a group of staff were In the back talking. We asked for a new high chair and we were handed a new high chair that we had to take back to the table and take the old high chair back. Today we went there it was not very busy and no one was waiting for a seat. We come in with our one year old and we are offered a high top table. Obviously we can’t sit at at a high top with a one year old. I asked about a booth in the corner and was told they save that for larger parties. Needless to say we will NOT be coming back. We tried to give it a few chances because we used to LOVE it but things have definetly changed and not...
