We stopped by this restaurant after voting tonight hoping to have a good meal. I saw their menu in the Messager and was excited about the new additions to their menu. Unfortunately, I wish that I had not.
First of all, our meal took a long time to get to us. I must say that our waitress was kind and helpful. The time that we had to wait was not her fault. For the amount of people there, they were understaffed.
Second of all, I ordered Ghost Bites as an appetizer, which were reasonably good. However, I had to pay $6.99 for the smallest amount of food served that I have ever seen. It was very small pieces of chicken smothered in buffalo sauce. The amount consists of maybe one chicken strip placed on a small saucer. I would have been embarrassed to serve anyone something so tiny. And I’m not exaggerating by any means. I thought it may be a joke at first.
Third of all, I ordered a salad as one of my 2 side dishes. I asked for the House Italian, which consisted of oil and vinegar only...no spices. If I wanted oil and vinegar, then I could of just asked for it.
Fourth of all, my meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy on open faced bread arrives, and it doesn’t even look like meatloaf. I took a bite out of it and couldn’t even decipher what kind of meat it was. It didn’t even have a ground beef taste. I had my husband try it, and he said the same thing as me. He could tell it was processed, and he thought it had tasted like veal. I’ve never had veal before so I wouldn’t know what it tastes like. Again, I couldn’t believe someone served this to me calling it meatloaf. I have had frozen meatloaf dinners better than I had tonight at this place. I tried to eat it because I was hungry, yet could only get maybe a third of it down. I offered the rest to my husband, which he usually eats the rest of my food anyways. He could only eat a few bites, and he eats everything!!! We then passed it on to my oldest son who also eats any and everything. He couldn’t even get one bite down.
Needless to say, I just wanted to leave at this point. I was so embarrassed for this restaurant. We left very disappointed after spending over $70. And worst of all, I left still hungry after spending all the money I had. I guess you...
Read morePacis is a local hole-in-the-wall that I discovered in my two years living in the California PA area, and more years spent attending the university. After long days working, with school as well, there were days where I wasn't going to cook, and needed to recharge from the week. To do so, one of the top options was - and remains - Paci's.
Sporting a long standing reputation, and not afraid to wear that vintage aesthetic on its sleeve, it is quaint and humble from the outside. Inside, it's much the same. Though, the food is where the magic happens. A simple menu is chosen for its specific food offerings that they have chosen to hone in on. I genuinely don't think there's a bad choice on the menu, and they aim to satisfy.
If you're coming in from somewhere big and important, or even closer to Pittsburgh, it may seem very humble. But you won't go away hungry, or wanting...
Read moreMy husband and I ate here while out of town on a recommendation from someone who works at the hotel we were at. Oh my god, it was amazing. We ordered the Ghost Wing Soup, Ghost Wings, the Tony burger and spaghetti and meatballs to try a little of everything. Every single thing we ordered was delicious. We are from Buffalo and tend to judge wings in other places pretty harshly. Let me tell you, the ghost wings were better than anything I’ve ever had in Buffalo. They were Perfectly crispy and the house made ghost sauce was insanely flavorful. Don’t be afraid of the ghost stuff, their recipes are so amazing, that you get soooo much flavor with the heat. They also sell their sauce so we brought some home-it’s so good I could drink it. This place is a hidden gem. If you’re passing through, eat here. You...
