Cullens Ice Cream — Restaurant in Champlin

I used to love Cullen's -- until the pandemic. Donning our masks, we walked in to get ice cream the summer of 2020. Not a single customer or worker wore a mask. Before getting our ice cream, I requested the gal behind the counter please put on a mask before scooping (i.e., breathing on) our ice cream. (Without masks people MUST be at least 6 feet apart, which obviously was not happening either.) The girl replied sweetly, "Oh, I don't wear a mask." I said, "Yes, I see that, but please put one on before you get my kids and me our ice cream" to which she says, "We don't have any masks in our store." Seriously?!? Cullens obviously did not care about the health and well being of their customers! I felt incredibly disrespected. Cullens, we used to adore you, but we will not be going back. P.S. Employees at Two Scoops in Anoka DID wear masks during the pandemic. If you're concerned about your continuing right to good health, you might want to give them your business instead. Cullens is a great place to get ice cream! It's such a bummer the last reviewer was complaining about masks but then gave a shout out to a local competitor. I might have believed her... until she boasted about another ice cream shop. Seems super suspect 🧐

I was in Cullens today with my family and all staff were wearing masks. If I cared so much about people wearing a mask around my food, I would only buy at places that people were wearing masks at. I would not expect someone to put a mask on THEIR face because of MY preference... It's THEIR face.
