1st time visit yesterday evening. Fantastic experience. My daughter and I arrived by water. Plenty of pier accommodations to tie off your vessel (They even have a ramp). I ordered a burger and onion rings. It was really good. My daughter ordered sirloin steak, mashed potatoes and fried okra. Steak was ordered medium rare and was cooked perfectly! Sweet tea was tops! They had a 1 man band on a peddled acoustic guitar providing great entertainment taking requests. I loved their elevated backyard deck seating. We had a great time. Server was not as attentive as I would like. Most important thing that I will be returning for is the food quality. Excellent food and generous portions. Just wow, how have I never been here before?
We have returned for a 2nd and 3rd visit since this review. 2nd time, we sat at our table 15 minutes and did not get a server. Time was too tight for slow service. We left hungry and thirsty. Our 3rd visit, again slow service. Took 8 minutes to get a menu and 15 to get drinks. Seeing how this was going, I prepaid the bill so I could leave on time when I needed to and I was glad I did. We had a secondary waitress help close me out since my primary waitress did not visit our table frequently. Secondary waitress was so friendly. She refilled our empty cups with a smile in the absence of our primary waitress and closed our check with a handheld POS. I still think this place is wonderful. I have just learned that this is not the place to go if you are in a time crunch. Maybe I'll call ahead my order next time while in route if I am pressed for time.
Final Update: Yes, yes. I keep coming back here for the great food, great atmosphere and riverside docking accommodations. I love it here. Today, I brought a 1st timer guest with me and we met our server Ryan. Super friendly guy and in conversation I found out that he was aware of this review. He was clearly up to the challenge to change my opinion of their subpar service. He knocked it out of the park today. What an asset he is to this business! Redemption is a beautiful thing, fine sir! Thank you! You made our evening! The GM of the restaurant, Sherry, (please pardon the spelling if wrong), came over and acknowledged this review, introduced herself and offered to help, and said if we needed anything to let her know. It was a quick and pleasant interaction and she checked on us multiple times and made sure everything was perfect for us. We enjoyed the live band, had phenomenal service and ate like kings with 2 orders of blackened pork chops (hats off to the kitchen staff yet again, y'all are flawless every single time we come). Can't wait to...
Read moreGo where the locals go.🫶🤝 Riverside, is a cozy-as-a-snuggy establishment comfortably situated on the water, which gives it a great chill vibe, akin to being at the beach.🌴 It is a place where you will see boots, sandals, and athletic shoes.👢🩴👟 (Queue Chariots of fire as you read the next line, lol).🎼 It is tucked away on the far side of Channelview, previously home of proud Falcon alumni like Glenn Wilson, Chris Sampson, Johnny Knox, Brandon Jennings and Jalen Hurts. Traveling there is like a pleasant stroll down memory lane, back into the area’s more rural past. The Riverside has been upgraded from being a bar with Mos Eisley-like clientele to being the haven where classic-rocking live music meets a kitchen on par with Mom’s, Grandma’s, and the other Grandma’s cooking-with-love level. (Greedo shot first). The McGees are flat-out Channelview rock stars on Friday nights. A husband and wife due tag-teaming their way to some of the best ear candy on the east side. One of the only places I know, that is dog friendly.🐶🐕🦮🐩🐕🦺🤟 Oh, and Shrinkflation?! Not at The Riverside!😤 The food coming out of the proud kitchen is just what the blue-collar workers of the channel enjoy. It is real food made fresh, and seasoned with subtle wizardry. All sauces are made in house. Every piece of lettuce is fresh. Every entree is exactly what it is supposed to be. Everything I’ve tried has been fantastic.🤌 Things like: A picturesque burger. Seriously, get ready to take a pic!🍔 Fish and chips. All the flakiness and crunch that can come from a fish fillet. 🐟 Oh so tender steak bites. Soft, yet meaty flavor. Marinated and tenderized…Allowing those beef bites to live up to the delicious purpose of their existence.💪 Grilled or blackened fish that will make that guy that only orders burgers, question his life choices.🤯 Entrees named for local businesses or people. If you know, you know.😉 Homemade CFS FTW!🙌 Flavor-packed pork chops. (Pro tip - try them covered in crawfish tail meat. Actually, try anything in that crawfish tail sauce. Ask Cici.)👌 The best fried pickles ever! Impossibly crispy and perfectly balanced. Not soggy. Not over battered.🥒 …and many more!🤩 So, if you want to go where the locals go, to sojurn in a great atmosphere, to discover some satisfying food, to hear marvelous music, to catch an Astros game, and to be in good company, then drive on out to the Riverside Seafood and Grill. Feel free to untuck your shirt, and exhale.😎 Thank me later. Happy eating...
Read moreSo much rain,so little time! This little honey hole, over in Harris County/ Channelview, Tx. , deserves to be noticed, but not for the reasons posted in my review this morning. Great place for everything nostalgic, and delicious! Wether you are ready to eat, or drink the wide variety of cocktails and mixers, go alone to get all the friendly service members to yourself, or bring the friends and enjoy your team on the flat screens... If you're nice, and ask for the favor, they're known to even put the flat screens on the outside dining area,( a must see for afternoon or evening sunsets). This place is that spot where it's going to have something for anything regarding the atmosphere. Weather it's a place for a first date,or something else, that is more like a hangout for a few drinks and some good food after work. Family dining is also compatible with Riverside... There's plenty of room for the entire class reunion (trust me, they have been done, last year infact ,and it was wildness) I must confess to the fact that my oldest daughter works here and her roommate and lifelong friend as well. She's been working there for a while now and is always telling me the best stories of the afternoons or evening shifts she has worked, and then I get the best pictures of the sunsets and the dining area on the water... I swear every picture is like a postcard to the place! Say prayers for the inconveniences that everyone has faced, and will be dealing with in the road to recovery from the flooding this past week... Bless Riverside Seafood and all whom are part of the family that is and has been working working there. Gods speed to an awesome and speedy recovery, and then all employees affected by the floods can get back to work and home as soon as safely...
