Second time in two orders they have gotten it wrong. First time was not so bad but they did not understand how to put toppings on only half of a pizza even though it was made clear.

This time I ordered a vegan pizza with two specific toppings and they repeated that order back to me. Stated 25-30min wait.

I arrived 25 minutes after ordering and was told it would be another 15 minutes of wait time.

Pizza came out 40 minutes after ordering and was incorrect. Apparently there is a vegetarian pizza on the menu (with a lot of vegetables) and whoever was making pizzas decided to make that, since in her eyes vegan=vegetarian.

They confirmed that they used vegan cheese so I accepted the pizza as I did not want to wait 40 more minutes for another one.

The last time this happened I had asked to speak to a manager to offer feedback and was told one would call me but one never did.

Management, if you read this please work to run a tighter ship at your homestead location. Even one of the guys who was waiting for his pizza after hearing me talk to myself about not wanting to have them remake of pizza said, "welcome to Sal's" as if to suggest this was the norm.

The food is tasty, even if it's a little expensive, but estimates for when food it should be ready need to be more accurate. As well, whoever is making pizzas does not seem to be understanding clearly offered instructions by the customer and the employee taking the order.

I rarely see an adult beyond what looks to be a young worker there so I do believe there could be higher levels of quality control from somebody actually in the...

If I were to review Sal's anytime in the last 30 years it would have been off the charts. I even got a job there as a teenager washing dishes knowing that the pizza would be a fringe benefit. (I am a New York transplant from the 80's) However, in the last six months things have dropped off considerably. The quality was the best and I had eaten in this area and this is no longer the case. I was spending $30-$50 a week at Sal's and next thing I know I was charged for extra sauce. That has never happened anywhere. I paid and started going to Alfredo's down at University Mall. I went back after a few months and went to the buffet. The food was good but I wanted pizza. There were five old slices on the buffet. Two pepperoni and three cheese. I asked if there would be any fresh pizza and the lady that runs the place told me that there's pizza already on there. I had to eat the old stuff first so I used the marinara from the meatballs to warm it up. Then more pizza came but only 1/2 cheese and 1/2 pepperoni as an earlier review stated. This place used to be THE BEST but that was long ago. They seem to be pinching pennies now and at the cost of lost business. I'll check back in a few months for any improvement and update this review if things have improved. They must have noticed the influx...

CAUSED ALLERGIC REACTION, DISGUSTING ATTITUDE. DO NOT order from here! They put regular mozzarella on my child's pizza when I ordered non-dairy cheese due to their dairy allergy. We have ordered many times from Sal's pizza and overlooked the fact that it is greasy af for everyone else's order so that my kid could have pizza with vegan cheese. When I called to ask about it I was told it was my problem and my fault and that they don't even write down the order, so it couldn't possibly be their error. The girl that works there is extremely rude and purposefully hung up on me several times when I was trying to tell them what happened. Thank God for the quick response from Chapel Hill Fire and EMS, and the UNC Pediatric ER and Children's Hospital, as my child had to be admitted for observation. Thankfully, they will be ok. All of this is due to THEIR negligence. I will NEVER forget how rudely I was treated by those people at Sal's. I won't miss eating their food anyway - it's greasy, the portions are small, it's expensive, and they can't manage to put the correct ingredients together, even when it is specified that there is an allergy. No refund, just denials and asinine, immature behavior. There are so many better options in Chapel...

Saw Sal's when going to my doctor. Looked them up online to see what things they had on the menu. The Caprese pizza caught my eye. I asked for extra cheese and got it! The ingredients are very fresh and you can taste the goodness. The crust is very good... I don't normally eat crust, but I did on this pizza. It's a little more expensive than I would normally pay, but once in a while for a good pizza, I will splurge. The inside is small, but there are several booths if you want to eat inside. There is also outside seating. The service was good and it didn't take long for my order to be ready.

We ordered pizza last night for the first time since they opened back up. We ordered $36 of pizza, wings, and mozzarella sticks, and gave a good cash tip. When we opened our pizza it had been clearly mishandled and all the cheese and toppings were in the corner of the box, all of the food was cold and the pizza was under cooked. I am really bummed as this has always been one of my favorite pizza places. We wont be ordering again, or suggesting to anyone. This is not a good way to re-open a business. Mind you they didn't even have a mile to drive for delivering
