Let me just say that I'm all for supporting black businesses and I really hate to write this review, but I must! I just left here and was highly disappointed at the service I recieved. Had it not been for the taste of the food, I would've only given one star! First of all, I know this is a hood spot/carryout but I just couldn't understand why the pricing is so high when you're not offering full service? I saw one comment from the owner saying they only have 2 seats in there because of fire department regulations, but that has NOTHING TO DO WITH SEATS! Fire dept regulations are for OCCUPANCY. I guess they really don't want you to get comfortable in there, because they have more than enough space for more chairs. I ordered the super seafood plater which was $38.99! The wait time wasn't bad at all, but upon recieving my food I saw that they crammed my entire order into ONE carryout container! The container was completely open. So I asked the young lady "Will it close?" She responded, "No it's just like that." So I said "How about we get another container so it can close, this is seafood." She then looked at me like I was crazy because I wanted my food contained properly! She then had to go in the back and ask someone was it ok to do so. Eventually I received another container (with an attitude) to seperate my platter properly. I really started to go off on the young lady, but I knew she probably didnt know any better. It was a bad experience and I wont ever return again, but I just wanted to give the public a heads up and the owner some advice. Please to do not take my community's business/money for granted. We deserve better. I can get an entire seafood feast at Red Lobster for $10 LESS than your platter with a much better ambiance and staff! The reason people come to you is because it feels good to support our own. Your staff needs to learn how to proerly handle food, and your price needs to reflect...
Read moreHands down one of the best seafood spots in Charlotte! The quality of food here is way better than one of those Asian restaurants. Crablegs are bigger, signature butter sauce taste like it’s made with crack…. Haven’t had a rich butter sauce with seafood since seafood connection closed. Pricing is on point with the market and isn’t any cheaper or more expensive than other seafood restaurants. However, they do offer daily/ weekly specials which can be attractive if you are on a budget. I can see parking being an issue, but I can say I’ve never experienced it- always in and out! I don’t care for showing my ID for my order, cashier really attempted to not give me my already paid for food without it, but the cook OK’d it as I am a regular weekly customer. The signage is clearly posted in the establishment, so they technically have legs to stand on with that rule, so just remember to have it if you order online. Overall, it’s a great establishment and I will continue to patronize.
Edit: I came back to say, although the food is good- the establishment obstacles to obtain the food is similar to the Olympics (just joking), but ordering can be challenging. So I already mentioned the ID requirement to pick up food you paid for already. Specials are advertised in the store, but you can only pay cash for it. So if you stop by and decide you want a special item along with something else, they make you produce 2 different forms of payment- card payment for menu items, then cash for the special items. No cash- you will denied the special or told to go get cash. There’s no phone orders availability, so if you want them while your on the road, be prepared to pull over, check to see if you have valid ID on you, then place the order online if the site is working (it froze on me twice trying to enter my payment method). Makes me kinda miss establishments that wants to service the community and made it...
Read moreWe've enjoyed the food at Mr 3s for a few years now. However, we stopped visiting the establishment for about 8 months as the result of the dilapidated parking lot. Still, we recently revisited the establishment and was met with the same pothole galore parking lot. You don't see Latino businesses do this. They'll take a location that's crap and build it to a glorious establishment....including a sound parking lot. Nevertheless, we picked up our order and made our way home. This was the very first time the food was... different. My Alfredo Chicken pasta lacked seasoning . Instead of strips of chicken throughout dish. It had one very small strip of chicken, for me to cut up. It didn't taste the same nor near the amount of chicken normally provided. The dish was primarily Alfredo and noodles. Another member of our household who's gotten the same dish for years. Unfortunately, experienced an upset stomach for a couple days after this visit. Therefore, we decided to no longer remain customers. We wish it well as black business. Yet, frown upon it's lack of appreciating it's core black customers by allowing a structural unsound parking lot to remain and comfortably disrespecting the reviewers who had a less than an ideal experience. Listen, if your restaurant is in the hood( which is fine). It is that same hood that makes or breaks that business by being patrons. It is the hood by word of mouth, that brings that business to the attention of those outside of the hood. Thankfully, restaurants of similar humble locations and beginnings, don't forget this.
One more thing. Stop having tip already chosen during checkout. Yeah, the customer can choose to remove it, but it's easy to miss. No other restaurant sites I use, have this option...
