What a comeback!!! (Info 👇) Looking for the perfect spring roadtrip? Highland and Ash Flat have your name written all over them!! From being devastated by 2 EF4 tornadoes to new business, new growth and amazing shops and eats, I love seeing this incredible story of resilience!! 👏 Here are 10 stops to make in the Highland and Ash Flat area: 🚗 Hackney Creek Covered Bridge - one of the only covered bridges in Arkansas you can drive through 😋 @meachams_family_restaurant - Our vote for best onion rings in the state! 🙌 🇺🇸 Ash Flat Veteran's Memorial 💸 The Mustard Seed Vendor Market & Gift Boutique 🥩 Artisan Grill 🎳 Frontier Lanes 🐝 Dirt Road Market 🎣 @roxoutfitters 🛶 Lake Mirandy 🍳 Pill Box Cafe There's also this amazing Farm Stand between Ash Flat and Highland and I just can't think of the name of it. Super cool metal art too!! And Highland High School is home to one of the only Observatory's in Arkansas! Sometimes, they even open it up for public viewing!! 🔭 📍Highland and Ash Flat, Arkansas Don't forget to SAVE this video for future reference and TAG someone you want to take a roadtrip with!! 👌 #arkansas #visitarkansas #roadtrip #familyadventures #tornado #daytrip Places to roadtrip in Arkansas family kid friendly farmers market Arkansas grown Gift ideas

I was brought here to celebrate 35 years in the military. I thought it was going to be a nice night out. Nope. I had said I wanted to have a steak that night so when I got there I ordered the 16oz ribeye (the person I went with ordered the same steak). For $38 I was on the fence but I thought what the heck. What I got back was a fatty, gristle filled piece of meat that I could barely chew. It was garbage (picture attached so you can see all the fat on it). I was starving so I did eat most of it but I wasn't happy about it. I did however ask for a togo box in which I put about ¼ of my fat and gristle in to bring home for my dog. I just want to add that Colton's steakhouse has a 16oz ribeye that is $12 cheaper. Yes...TWELVE DOLLARS CHEAPER! And no I'm not related to them in any way. The steak was the worst part but just as bad was our waitress (Diane??? I think). It took her 10 minutes to just take our drink order. Not because it was busy (she had 2 tables) but because she was talking to the kitchen staff through the pick up window the whole time. Even after she brought our drinks back it took her another 15 minutes to take our food order. The service was horrendous and the food was below average at best. Since there are so few people in Ash Flat I'm sure people are leaving favorable reviews because their either related or friends. Bummer for anyone trying to have a nice steak dinner (you won't) without getting robbed blind (you will). My friend even went as far to call the restaurant the next day to talk to the manager and got all the fluff talk. "Our chefs blah blah blah. And the cut of meat come from vendors". The same old song and dance...overcharge because we can, and blow off any unhappy customers. Truth is if your service had been stellar and food was even above average then the high cost could have been acceptable. But no, you guys fail...miserably. I will never go back there and rest assured I'll be telling folks to avoid you at all costs. Which it will if they don't heed my warning. Good luck staying in business more than a year. You won't!

The food was wonderful however the experience was lacking. The staff were very nice and good at checking in with you. It took the majority of an hour to get our food. Once we got our food half of what was listed on the menu was not on our plates. Again the food itself was fantastic, waitresses were fantastic somewhere beyond the waitress everything got messed up. They may have had new people in the kitchen but if that were the case, then someone who is trained should have been on stand by to make sure orders were getting done right. (Considering the amount it cost us for two people to eat and how far we drove to try out the restaurant.) I wouldn't mind trying other dishes but I wasn't thrilled about how the problem was fixed. I noticed other customers around us were complaining about how they never got their salads as well as witnessing a worker remove salad dressing from the middle of a man's salad. I would not want someone else's bare hands in the middle of my salad esp after touching other people's dirty cups for refills or dirty plates. I felt terrible for the young lady waiting on us you could tell she felt bad our order was totally messed up. I hope they get their staff more supportive help. JUST TO MAKE SURE I WASNT IN THE WRONG the menu picture does say: Hush puppies, green Tomatoes and tarter sauce included as well as two sides. This is where our order became completely messed up as far as half of our food missing.

I've hesitated to leave a review because I really like the owners. We have eaten here several times and we were not disappointed at first. But the last 3 times one or both of us have left unhappy. The 2 times prior to today, I ordered a burger and both times it was burnt on one side. Today, we went again because my husband wanted a steak. I saw other customer's burgers and they looked great, so I ordered one and it was very good this time. We ordered fried mushrooms as an appetizer, they finally arrived when I was over half done eating my meal. We had to take them home where they would have to be reheated, and not as good as if we'd gotten them before our meal like they are supposed to be served. My husband ordered the New York strip for $32. It was small, even by my standards, and I'm not a big eater. It came with a potato, he chose fries (no baked potato as an option at all) and a small side salad. THAT'S ALL. not even any bread unless you pay extra. It looked pretty sad. Even I would probably have left still hungry after that small, but pricey meal. He said the steak was probably the least flavorful of any steak he's eaten. There's a $2 upcharge for Cajun seasoning if you want that. He ordered it medium rare and it was medium-medium well. we had waited for quite some time, so he didnt want to send it back and wait longer. His salad came after his meal arrived too. I'm sure this will be our last time eating here and it's a bit sad because I know how passionate David and Christy are about their place. The place is beautiful and clean. I do wish them well as it has many...
