Visitng the restaurant on a weekend but not going to the whole festival? You might want to wait for another time of year. From the looks of things, The Hive has great food -- you can see that in other reviews. We're very much looking forward to trying it. However, you need to be aware of the challenges involved with getting to The Hive this time of year. We went at 8:15am Saturday 9/24 and discovered they were charging $5 for parking due to their fall festival. No problem, I can understand that. However, they were having all cars park in the far field and then hike back. The closer field was reserved for wedding parking for a wedding that was later in the afternoon. When I explained that my wife had twisted her ankle (and it's obvious that I'm not in the best shape myself), Wyatt was unwilling to hear any of it or discuss with any superiors about the possibility of parking closer. After talking to a manager by phone later (who was willing to accommodate us had Wyatt contacted her), we understand that this will be the case on weekends at least through the end of October. I am unsure if they're doing anything during the Christmas season that might be similar. But for now, be prepared to pay to park, and to park very, very far away, even if you're just trying to get to the restaurant and not the festival. Hopefully they come up with a solution for customers who just want to visit the restaurant on a weekend, and aren't participating in the entire fall festival. Until then, it's best to wait for another...
Read moreSuper disappointing. Our table of seven, admittedly large, watched tables of equal or lesser size receive the same food we ordered for over an hour before we got our food. When we finally received our food it was mediocre at best (chicken sriracha sandwich, hamburger, Java fries, and chicken salad sandwich included). After 45 minutes of waiting, our waitress told us they’d spoken to the manager to take a percentage off of our bill because we had waited so long. This was posed to us like they were doing us a huge favor, they gave us 10% off. With a three-year-old and a newborn included in the seven at our table who were clearly uncomfortable for waiting so long not to mention the swarms of bees in the patio dining area, I would’ve expected an actually sincere apology at the least. I’ve worked in customer service for several different food service companies and I understand how difficult this type of situation can be. This was unacceptable. This farm is a money grab with very little return: long wait times, mistreated animals whose pens are filthy and appear uncared for, inaccessible transportation to the actual farm and patches. I’m extremely...
Read moreWent here Sunday while attending the fall pumpkin festival and decided to get a drink from the bar before we left the market area to ride the hayride to the pumpkin patch. The staff were friendly and nice; our waitress even made some conversation at our table for a little bit. The outdoor dining area had a cute setup; def would like to see how it is during the summer.
I don't remember the name of the drink I got because I asked the lady at the order window to make whichever one was both fruity and sweet. I'd give the drink an 8/10; it was pretty good, but became watered down really really fast. Didn't try any food off the menu because we were already planning to go eat after we left the farm, but after looking at the menu, I definitely see myself going back here soon to try their food and whatever new seasonal items/drinks they'll be adding to the menu in the next month or so.
My overall rate of...
