New Century Restaurant — Restaurant in Chesnee

Even before the pandemic when you went in there was hardly anyone in the place, and for whatever reason it's because most people take out. It's funny to me because of the numerous times I've been there and nurses from Spartanburg hospital come in to get food. Spartanburg, as you know, is a huge City yet nurses go all the way up to Chesnee South Carolina to buy Chinese????, LOL. OF COURSE IF YOU EAT THE FOOD YOU'LL UNDERSTAND WHY. Before the pandemic they had buffet and I have taken many dates to it Since there isn't a lot of people that go in the place it's an ideal setting for a romantic dinner. It has the usual Chinese cuisine. And yes it's all great. The only item I do not love is the tea, the tea is horrible, thankfully they have Coke and other things to drink, don't get the tea. Other people love it I don't, I call it mop water. Lol. The food is a different story one word comes to mind FLAWLESS!!! I love the potstickers but they call them steamed dumplings. They will offer you soy sauce with them, I never use soy sauce with the steamed dumplings I use teriyaki sauce and I always request it and by the way it's great. Highway 221 runs through chesnee and it's called Alabama. Yet as soon as you leave Chesney it goes back to being called highway 221. If you're traveling highway 221 you definitely want to stop in if you love Chinese. It is a very family-friendly atmosphere. These people do not care about customers at all, everytime we go there they are extremely rude, talk fast, when you tell them what you want they try to make you get something else telling you "this is the best deal". They will not remake your food when you get your order wrong, they dont care if you come back or not, and to top it all off, their food isnt even great. I ordered lomain was dryer then dry, I called the guy said they ran out of sauce but still served it to a paying customer at full price. I rather drive to Spartanburg or Gaffney and spend the extra time and gas and get good Chinese food when I know they care about their customers and the quality of the food they are getting. Sun King in Spartanburg is a buffet and it's so much cheaper and tastes better with great customer service. Never again will I return here...

We came in at 3pm, they close at 10 pm & what we were offered was scraps of food, literally & the server seemed quit annoyed that we were here at that time. She didnt sit us or anything, we had to sit ourselves & like i said, our choices of food were very limited as some of our personal favorites only had a few pieces left & others were just completely empty. We should have left when we saw that but we were all really hungry so we just made due with what was in front of us.

Also, may I add that our server & two other workers there were eating at a table so when we were done eating, we had to either go to her table & tell her that we’re ready to pay or wait till she was done or noticed us. Btw, they were eating food from the back, food that wasnt present to...
