It was okay, not great, not bad. Prices did not match the quality of food. I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon. I realize some people like wet scrambled eggs, but not me For $12, I got a small plate of eggs, some decent country potatoes, 3 pieces of well-done bacon, and two slices of toast. I felt $8 would be a more appropriate price.
The waitstaff service was very slow (we were there on a Wednesday morning) and certainly did not keep up with our water needs. Could have been friendlier, like the busgirl was.
Others in my party ordered meals that included pancakes. Those prices were much more appropriate and they seemed to enjoy their meals more. It would have been nice if they had breakfast burritos.

Read moreOnce again, Carol made the most delicious meal for the Almanor West Volunteer Fire Department on duty during the Dixie Fire in Butte, Tehama, and Plumas Counties. Tonight's meal was her renowned Fried chicken, mash potatoes with the most delicious light gravy, a wonderful Cole slaw salad with plenty of moisture. I prefer my food moist so the chicken, salad, spuds with gravy was outstanding for my taste preferences. The desert of amazing cupcakes topped by a rich and delicious dark fudge topping and vanilla ice cream was the perfect finalie to our meal. It's also the dinner she serves every Sunday to the community of Lake Almanor. Located at Wilson's Marina and trailer park in Prattville, it's become a legend and compliments the marina which is a legend in its own right. I can give both...
Read moreMy husband drives by the Prattville and Carol's Cafe sign approximately once a month during his work travels in the Lake Almanor area of CA. Because our last name is Pratt and because my name is Carol, he wanted to take me there on his vacation last week. We ate at Carol's Cafe and boy was it ever so tasty! My husband ordered a hamburger and fries and he was in heaven. I ordered the in-house pulled pork smoked sandwich on a Dutch crunch roll and it was the best I've EVER had in my life! We are still talking about the great food and the great coffee to this day and already making plans to go back and try some more of their food. We would definitely very highly recommend this place. It's worth the drive and we are coming from...
