The kingdom of heaven has come near to you. One star review deserved for unfair passive aggressive impatient and rude treatment in the sight of attempting to get service close to closing time. It's recommended, if mentioning to a guest that your business is closed, or just closed, to do so in a nice way. An example of that could sound like, "Hey thanks for coming in, but we just closed, I am sorry about that, we open tomorrow at this time, would you like a free drink, bag of chips or cookies, to go?" I did not get a positive response like that. I don't recommend going there. I did not get thanked for coming in, I did not get any kind of real apology, nor did I get offered anything complimentary. It was shocking and extremely uncalled for the way the owner acted towards me. If he was in a hurry to close up and had to be somewhere, it would have been appreciated to hear something like that, but I don't think he even was. I think he was just being really biased towards me. He did not level with me at all. He was extremely inconsiderate. He never asked me to leave nicely, it was all very demanding like, and forceful in tone. He would not pay attention or care, he was very upset. I clearly explained to him how he was being very rude and passive aggressive to me and standing way too close to me for me to feel comfortable enough and at ease enough for me to be able to feel peaceful enough to leave on my own. He blew up seemingly out of nowhere for definitely not a good enough reason, it was really surprising. He acted like he didn't care, yelled at me louder, it was extremely unprofessional and hostile. I asked for the coworker woman to please walk me out, and she began to and I got half way with her, before he walked up on me again, way too close for comfort, so I stopped and faced him directly, repeating to him that if he can give me some space and stop yelling, that I'd be happy to leave peacefully on my own. The woman seemed more kind and patient. I am a slow cautious and sensitive person, and on guard a lot, because I know there seems to be many people like him, in this world. I knew it was close to closing time, and I tried getting there as soon as I could. This was my first time inside there. Another guest just got his food before walking out, seconds or a minute before I approached. Another man walked in from outside and began yelling at me too like the owner had, and even got more loud and aggressive and hostile with me. So I had to stand up against him, who also seemed to want to lay hands on me. I said, "No, stop, get away from me, repent, I rebuke you!" I then asked another woman who came in with that man to be helpful and walk me out, and she did. Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever is against me is also against God; for I am with Him, and from Him, and work for Him. Wherever you stand, I'll know what side you're on. I am. Choose good. Repent, and follow me. Anyone against this review, I rebuke. Anyone for this review, I love. God bless you all, in the name of Jesus Christ. The kingdom of God has truly come neigh unto...

Great things do come in small packages!

We happened across this small owner run restaurant during a ride along the river. Small, extremely clean and the aroma's coming from their kitchen greet you as you enter the parking lot. Now that's a great sign!

The restaurant has 8 tables, well appointed space. The menu is surprisingly unique for such a small place and it is certainly packed with flavor. This was our fourth, yes 4th, time visiting the Anchor - that is how great the food is. I had the mushroom burger with wonderfully melted cheese on a fresh roll and the garlic French fries. One bite and I had to stop to catch my breath - it was just sooooo good. My companion had the cheese burger melt, he just looked at me after his bite and said WOW - how do they do this. In my line of work, less is more so one word exclamations make the point. The cookies and the muffins are one of a kind perfections. I am picky about cookies but these, especially the Lemon Blueberry and the Hermits were "out of the park." This was a delightful experience from start to finish; the food was exceptional, the staff was attentive, and the ambiance was perfect. I'm already looking forward to coming back again and again!

The owners are on-sight and make the extra effort to make sure everything is perfect. We appreciated the little extras and...

I was at The Anchor over the weekend and it is amazing! I got the junior smash burger with apricot jam and brie. Who would have thought of that combination? Soooo delicious! The parmesan truffle fries were really good, so crispy and not overly salty. I finished with TWO desserts, the chocolate toffee chocolate chip, which was yummy and home made. I also got a brownie to go on the way out and ate it on the ride home, it might even have been my favorite brownie ever. Richard and Mario, the owners, are so friendly and welcoming and they have a large family network there with them and all of them were sweet, too. As if all of that was not enough, the setting is so cool: on the water, in a marina, if you're a boatie like me, you will give that a thumbs up, too. I can't wait to get back there and try other menu items that appealed to me, I had a hard time picking what i wanted. All of their pastries are home made every morning and they all looked good. If my boat were there, I'd gain fifty pounds a summer eating them all. Go try this place, it's so cute (make sure you check out the art on the walls, it's vintage boating stuff and really adorable) and there is seating outside so you can watch the boat action. I've been told that next summer there will be dock access for boaters, don't miss...

I can't say enough nice things about these guys. They are welcoming and friendly, and the food and value are both fantastic. They have done an incredible job with the restaurant, and we have ben visiting every week for awhile, as easily a favorite off the beaten path breakfast and lunch spot. Everything thing I've tried from their menus and baked goods have been excellent. They will even play along with ridiculous orders: shout out to my recent craving of a Burger Melt with a fried egg, mushrooms, and onions! I've been meaning to leave them a review for awhile now, but was probably too content from my meals to remember when left. I send everyone I can their way, with only a small concern the line will get too long from popularity they well deserve.

Where has this place been my whole life??? I moved to the area about four years ago from lower Fairfield County, I never thought I’d find a decent place for breakfast or lunch again. And decent isn’t the right word for this place, it was amazing. The fries were the best fries I’ve ever had and the falafel wrap was so tasty and filling. The Anchor has a wonderful atmosphere, beautiful scenery and casual outside seating on the water. If you haven’t been yet, you’re definitely missing out, the breakfast and lunch menus have a lot of great items, I look forward to trying more. I did not take pics of my food to share, but I did have a ding dong cupcake, and that thing was extraordinary!

I wanted to share my wonderful experience at The Anchor. It's truly a hidden gem that has quickly become a must-have in our lives! During my visit, I enjoyed the Monte Cristo and a lemon pudding trifle, while my husband savored the Salmon Croissant along with several other delicious baked goods. The ordering process is simple—just walk up, place your order, and choose to sit and enjoy your meal or take it to go. The dining area is small, cozy, and features a charming nautical theme. Outdoor seating is also available. You can't go wrong with this adorable little restaurant!
