I'ved lived within 15 minutes of this place for it's entire existence apparently and today was the first time I went in. I say this to temper how effusive I want to review it and not seem like the owner's relative, etc. To that end, people rate the atmosphere 5/5 generally and they're not wrong. It IS cute inside, exceptionally clean (I worked in restaurants for ~20 years), local artists on the wall...they've done the best they probably could with the space, though I'd expand the bar. The problem is I have driven past it a 1000 times. Don't make the same mistake. If this place was in Portsmouth or other town main st location, or a place that caught the eye, they would print money. I loathe saccharine service, I adore attentive and personable with genuine personality. Check plus. I stopped in for a beer to kill time. Spied on the kitchen and eavesdropped with my eyes. Every plate that came out went back to the kitchen empty, and it wasn't because the portions were small. So I did a double check of the menu and the prices were more than reasonable. $10-20 for burgers, sandwiches, dinners (market price for seafood, if the owners read this, I suggest posting those prices on the specials board. People get it and don't mind paying but science says they hate asking and won't order bc). Fried haddock sandwich was like $11, chicken dinner entrees high teens. Subway sub prices and everything that came out of the window was far, far superior. This is a place people should know about. It's worth the drive. This place has heart and genuine folks and food. I don't get impressed by much but I absolutely fell in love...
Read moreTLDR: I loved the vibe at Flannel Tavern, there was great live music, delicious food and very kind and attentive service. I would recommend getting the Mac n Cheese, they also had some delicious sounding specials while I was there. If I pass Flannel Tavern again I'll be right back in there!
Atmosphere: Flannel Tavern seems like a popular local place, there was plenty of people enjoying their meals but the place didn't feel crowded at all, there is plenty of space even for larger parties. There was some live acoustic playing that set a nice calm vibe that didn't make conversation too difficult.
Service: Our waitress was great, she was super attentive to our table and was cracking jokes and being lively with us. She made sure we knew about the specials which I was happy to get and even told us what she would recommend. Very great service!
Food: The food was phenomenal here, really well done. I got the Chili Mac n Cheese and it was absolutely delicious. Taking bites of everyone's food in my party, the Lasagna Rolls and Chicken Sandwich was great. The French fries were delicious and crispy.
I loved Flannel Tavern a lot, the food came highly recommended and I was not disappointed in the least. I had a great experience and would love...
Read moreI waited TWO hours for NACHOS and a chicken sandwich!!!!! I patiently waited an hour and enjoyed my delicious beverage. The waitress came over about 1.5 HOURS later and apologized about the food and we said okay and I ordered take out because clearly they were running behind. My take out was done before my food!!! I had gone up after that and they offered us a drink on the house. Shortly after, again about TWO HOURS, our food came out and I was shaking from frustration. We ate some of the food and then they brought out the bill and my meal was still on there. I asked to have the manager come out and he had the audacity to tell me TWICE that “didn’t I see that it was busy” (mind you they have about 10-12 tables in the whole entire restaurant). He never once took responsibility for the AWFUL service and waited for me to say oh no it’s okay. I had to BEG for my food to be taken off. I’ve worked at Newick’s in Concord as a server for over ten years and have never witnessed something like this. I will NEVER return and guess that this place will close down within a year. ALSO, THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY GUESTS WEAR ANY MASKS WHILE ENTERING THE BUILDING AND NO SIGNS IN REGARDS TO...
