Gyro Express — Restaurant in Chicopee

Upon arrival at 4pm Sunday, there was a line with 3 people in front of me. The ordering was chaotic and took 45 minutes to reach the counter to order. I wanted to order 4 chicken kabob dinners, but they ran out of rice, so I ordered 4 chicken gyros with fries instead .Every Greek restaurant I have been to chicken gyros come with grilled chicken, this place was new so I wasn't familiar with their menu. When I arrive at home to eat some delicious Greek food, I was devastated to find cold thawed chicken tenders in my gyro. I'm saying not even cooked, they were precooked frozen chicken tenders. The reason I say they weren't cooked is because the breading was not crunchy, the pita was falling apart as if it was a couple days old, also the pita wasn't grilled like most Greek restaurant do. The menu didn't state the chicken gyros come with chicken tenders, I would have never ordered them. It was absolutely disgusting. I ended up throwing away the chicken and ate tomato, lettuce, onion sandwich. One thing that was enjoyable were the fries. Crunchy and hot. I gave the food one star because of the fries. Great Take out Gyros, Greek salads, Kebabs, Pizza, etc. They were extremely busy when I went on Friday night. Good food is worth the wait, but next time, I will call my order in. I got the combo with Gyro, side and drink, a great value with generous portions. I also had one of my favorite sweet treats : baklava, It was yummy , nutty with sweet honey. Next time, I'm going to try the grape leaves and a pizza. Staff was very busy, there were over a dozen people in line out the door , but they were friendly while juggling phone calls, cooking, door dash orders, taking payments while working the counter etc. They have Veggie pizzas, fish and shrimp baskets and falafel. I believe in supporting local businesses and am very happy to see them...

After reading reviews and hearing positive things from friends who’ve tried out Gyro Express, I stopped in and have nothing but the best to say. The employees were friendly, helpful and gave me a rundown of their menu and specials for the month. The owner is a sweet woman who put together the gyros I had ordered for my family. The food was fresh, delicious and I was shocked at how generous they were with the amount of meat on each gyro. I ordered 3 gyros total and the bag felt like it weighed 6 pounds.
