Sometimes, the best adventures happen by pure chance, and that’s exactly how I found myself at Koffee Kup Bakery in Chicopee. It all began during a casual trip to Stop & Shop on Boston Road. I was browsing the cookie aisle, specifically on the hunt for a nostalgic treat: hermit cookies. As I scoured the shelves, I noticed another shopper doing the same. I decided to take a chance and asked him, “Have you seen any hermits around here?” To my surprise, not only did he understand my question, but he also revealed something that turned my day around. “No,” he replied, “but I’m a baker at Koffee Kup Bakery in Chicopee, and I make them.” That was all the encouragement I needed. I thanked him, walked out of Stop & Shop, and made my way to this hidden gem. Walking into Koffee Kup Bakery felt like stepping into a haven for dessert lovers. The display cases were filled with rows of colorful, tempting treats. Sugar cookies, cupcakes, muffins, pastries—you name it, they had it. Each case seemed to tell a story of meticulous craftsmanship and care. The atmosphere was welcoming, with a cheerful staff that instantly made me feel at home. I explained to the friendly staff why I was there, recounting my grocery store encounter. They smiled knowingly, as if this wasn’t the first time someone had been drawn in by their hermits’ reputation. However, I had arrived just in time—the hermits were still in the oven. I decided to wait, knowing these freshly baked treats would be worth it. The time passed easily in this cozy space. The bakery’s decor added to the charm—simple yet inviting, with thoughtful touches like a Christmas tree still adorned with ribbons and ornaments, lending a sense of warmth even in February. As I waited, I couldn’t help but admire the artistry of the pastries on display. From elegantly frosted cakes to intricately designed cookies, each item looked like it had been made with love. The staff, attentive and kind, added to the experience by sharing small details about their baking process. Finally, the moment came. The hermits emerged from the oven, filling the bakery with an irresistible aroma of spices and sweetness. They handed me a batch, warm and freshly packed, and I couldn’t wait to try one. Koffee Kup Bakery is not just a place to grab a dessert; it’s a place with heart and a story. What started as a random grocery store conversation turned into a delightful discovery. This bakery truly is a hidden gem, one I’m thrilled to have found. If you’re ever in Chicopee—or even if you’re not—make the trip. The hermits alone are worth it, but the experience and the people make it unforgettable.

I have ordered from Koffee Kup Bakery a few times, and my previous experiences with their cupcakes specifically have been outstanding! However, my most recent order left much to be desired. I ordered 60 cupcakes for a friend's birthday, requesting a blend of vanilla and chocolate flavors with a burgundy and light pink frosting swirl design to match the theme. I supplied them with inspiration photos, and they confirmed the design in the colors I specified. Unfortunately, upon arriving to pick up my order at the scheduled time, I was informed my cupcakes had not been made due to a scheduling error on their part. They had mistakenly scheduled the order for Saturday instead of Thursday at 4:30PM. While they were able to accommodate my order using available cupcakes, I had to wait for the decorator to return to the store to apply the frosting, causing an additional inconvenience given my already tight schedule. When I finally received the cupcakes, I was disappointed with the quality. The decorator appeared to have rushed the job, resulting in a messy and inaccurate execution of the requested colors and design. The cupcakes were also dry, not living up to the delectable standard I had come to expect from this bakery. To add to the disappointment, the cupcakes were packed in 3 separate boxes, which were stacked on top of one another, causing the frosting on the cupcakes in bottom 2 boxes to be flattened and unappealing. While I appreciate Koffee Kup Bakery's efforts to fulfill my order despite the initial oversight, the overall experience was far from satisfactory. The cupcakes lacked the quality, attention to detail, and flavor that I had previously enjoyed.

I am very disappointed with this bakery. We ordered a jungle cake for a baby shower this past weekend. Since the baby shower was on Sunday and the baker is closed on sundays, I picked up the cake Saturday evening. When I arrived I pointed out to the two young female workers that there were a lot of flaws in the cake. There were white specs all around the cake and the base pan. They said it was how they make the cake shiny. I also stated that the ribbon around the base has a noticeably large gap. Someone mismeasured the length and made the mold too short. The girls state that they weren't the baker and continued to package up the cake. I stopped them again because the cake looked really bad. I asked them if they usually sell cakes with this low of a quality and they repeated that they weren't the baker while sliding the cake over the counter to me. I left feeling beyond upset. I called the bakery 15 minutes later hoping to speak to a manger but got another employee who was "off the clock" as it was 15 minutes before closing time. The cake wasn't even close to the original request. They stated there was nothing they could do because the manager is off until Tuesday. The message I left for the worker to give to the manager was the imperfections and that I expect a call upon receiving the note. The manager hasn't reached out. What makes it even worse is that the cake didn't match the picture. We ended up buying a different cake from another vendor. Great way to throw money down the drain.

Edit: 30 year of cake ordering here. They were always the best. Over the past few years things started to change. This year they made a mistake on my cake my husband ordered for me as a surprise. Simple vanilla with vanilla frosting and red and pink flowers every single year its the same cake. I was disappointed when i cut into the cake to find a chocolate layer. My husband was so upset about his surprise being ruined. Mistakes happen. During my husbands order they rushed him off when he tried to confirm the order. Then when he called to inform them of the mistake. He got a response that made it sound like he confused the cake decorator. Almost like he was being blamed somehow for the mistake. Mistakes happen, its how theyre handled after that matters. Very disappointed in my all time fav bakery. They offered cupcakes after insinuating it was my husband's fault, but we have a whole cake that we need to get through that's not our favorite. The cakes aren't cheap so don't want to waste the cake and add more with cupcakes. At least the top layer is vanilla, can enjoy half the cake. Just a little disappointed in what Koffee Kup is becoming. Miss the old gals that use to make the experience there. They were always a sweet treat lol. They made you feel like they were going to give you the treat of your life and they had confidence in there sweets. They stood by their quality and knew how good they were. Happy my husband got to see that before the changes happened. Now it's rap music and not so great service. I guess the old koffee cup is gone. I'll try a few more times not ready to let go of this 30 year tradition just yet. Also why did yall change the frosting. It's still good but the sweeter one was better. It's what us koffee kup people liked.

My family and I have been getting our birthday cakes + more here every year for about 22 years now! It's a tradition! Best cakes ever! Everything they make is amazing! Boston cream cup cakes is one of my favs, and lemon danishs! Hopefully, they will be around for...
