Chilhowee Corner Store — Restaurant in Chilhowee

I stopped by the corner store two times this weekend, once on my bike ride from Pleasant Hill and once on my way home. Both times, I found the store open and attended by one of the owners. She was very courteous and accommodating both times. She even filled one of my water bottles with ice and fresh water for free. There is a public restroom there and a small, air conditioned dining area. What a great resource for Rock Island riders. Just head into town from the trail head about two blocks. Came in for supplies while camping at the city park during a bike ride from Kansas City to St Louis. They have beer, ice, and a small grocery selection. I asked about firewood. They didn't have any, but she told me to give her 20 minutes and she'd have it figured out. Went back up the street to my campsite. Moments later a local guy drove up and said "I heard you need some wood! I'll be right back!".
