Normally I would rate the food a 5 and the service a 4 at best. I love their beer battered fish & chips. It's actually been my favorite in the area. Today however was rather disappointing. I ordered the fish & chips as I always do, but what they brought me was not what they've brought me in the past. Today the basket type thing it was served on was probably 40% smaller than has ever been brought before. And while there were still three pieces of fish, they were so small that all three pieces together equaled one to one and a half of the pieces I've always been served before. And while the batter was a nice color, it was rather doughy and a bit under done. When it was placed in front of me I asked the waitress if they had a new cook. She indicated that "yes" they did. I commented I guess that explains why it's nearly half the amount of food it normally is. She just Shrugged and walked away. I hope this was a one-time anomaly, and they either get another new cook or somebody talks to the Cook they have now. If this is an example of the new Chef's work, people are not going to be happy paying the same price for half the...
Read moreThe first time I stepped into Ron’s, I was reminded of an “up north” bar, it has that same smell and ambiance. There is nothing fancy, but you get good service and amazing food.
Everything I’ve gotten here, as far as food has been amazing. Since there is not any fast food restaurants in Marine City, Ron’s is our go to place when we don’t feel like cooking. Their burgers are some of the best I’ve ever had, but do lean on the greasy side. Their fries and onion rings are the best I’ve had (I eat out ALOT!!!). We try to always get their tacos on Taco Tuesday. We’ve taken friends and family there and they have loved everything they’ve tried. When they are visiting they ask for Ron’s.
There are a couple of pool tables, and I believe they also have karaoke and a DJ there on weekends. The jukebox is full of different genres but I mostly hear older rock when I’m there.
The service is good, the staff is friendly and the prices are comparable to McDonalds (the burger is much bigger and tastes much better!!!)
If you’re out on your bike or just in the area, stop by, you...
Read moreRon's Roadhouse Tavern is top notch, highly superior in food quality compared to other entities of their class. It's true, the interior decor can use an update, but the food that comes out of the kitchen is a work of a master chef. The meals are incredible.
There are many added perks at Rons, but I will leave that to the folks local to the area. What makes Rons Tavern a bonus as incredible, is unspeakable. You have to experience it to understand. It's normalcy, and I'll...
