My first visit here and certainly not my last!
If you're a fan of seafood &/or would like to take guests "from away" out to dinner, this is THE PLACE to go. They definitely have the freshest and largest variety of seafood & fish in the area.
My haddock sandwich was cooked to perfection, served on a homemade bun, and large enough to share. My friend ordered fried clams which were plump, generous, and perfectly cooked. I don't know what they do to their fresh cut fries but they were super crispy, delicious, and plentiful. Their coleslaw was also fresh and quite tasty. Our order arrived within 5 minutes of placing our order. Service was pleasant & attentive without being intrusive or making us feel rushed.
They offer a nice selection of desserts. I'm sad that I was too full to try the house made strawberry rhubarb crisp which looked super yummy.
Their cooler was well stocked with popular sodas and various brands of bottled water.
Several live edge slab tables and comfy wooden chairs create a cozy, comfortable, slightly rustic coastal themed environment. There's also outdoor seating available..
I think I noticed a playground area beside the parking lot and outdoor seating. (Children's menu available!) There is also something under construction in this area. Will update with further info after my next visit which will be very, very soon, while introducing friends to this gem of...
Read morethis is my first post on any restaurant in my 65 years. I have been to Mjeks several times over the years, owning a camp in Palermo. Living on Cape Cod I am very familiar with seafood and have always been satisfied. I also have been in retail human resource business for 50 years and know how to treat customers. Unfortunately I visited Mjeks Saturday afternoon Labor Day weekend, and had the worst customer service of my life. I placed an order for myself and 2 friends and was greeted by an argumentative lady when we asked for a special order. [ clam roll]. Which you can receive any other seafood restaurant I know, and I have ordered at Mjeks before. She gave us a spill they can't do special orders. For customers? So after charging us $70 for 3 rolls with no cole slaw or fries, I think I will find another seafood restaurant. I think the owner has done a good job building his business, but the woman who said she was his girlfriend, he needs to find her another job not...
Read moreHarrumph! These jokers refused to take my husband and I's order at their take out window. We are both immune compromised and had driven a long distance to eat here. BECAUSE of their evident takeout window and their outside seating, we felt like it would be completely normal to be able to avoid going inside to order/eat.
Rude staff at the window refused to take our order; hemming and hawing about it as if to decide whether or not we were worthy. The woman even made a displeased grimace as though we were somehow out to inconvenience her versus patronize their establishment. The irony was thick: it was a customer facing order window directly adjacent to their outside eating area. Won't be returning here if they're gonna be this tone deaf and rude to someone who traveled 45 minutes to try them out. P.S. - every other fried seafood place in the state seems to comprehend how to offer food to people via an exterior window. Not rocket science, especially during...
