The Quarry Grill at Bucks Run Golf Club — Restaurant in Chippewa Township

I went to the Mother’s Day brunch with my kids and let me tell you … disappointing doesn’t even begin to describe my experience. $50 for a buffet that was poor quality and offered very limited choices.

The “eggs” were imitation and swimming in some kind of yellow liquid. The French toast was nondescript, the asparagus overcooked, and the entree — bits of chicken floating in a liquid with a mix of squash and carrot was unappetizing. The dessert included slices of pies and squares of carrot cake — the kind you make for your family on a whim, not something you expect at a $50 per person meal where soft drinks are extra. Dorm food is better!

My husband and I stopped by The Quarry Grill for lunch for the first time mid-week while traveling through the Mt Pleasant area. We could not have had a better experience. We sat outside on the large patio that overlooked the course. My husband had an amazing Southwest Chicken Salad and I had Chef Ben's (Spicy!) Chicken Sandwich (at the recommendation of Erin against other tough choices). The menu punched above it's weight for a lunch menu and Erin made the afternoon a perfect unexpected pleasure. I mean it's not the greatest condition but the 6200-ish yards are acceptable. Its an older course and they must have had a legit architect its just a little rough. The fairways have every type of grass in them. The greens were slow but they could put the flags in some tough spots. Re-seed the course, add some tlc and they'll have something special here.
