I've wanted to try Tasty Burger for a while, and while on a random outing today I decided to stop in. Upon entry you could tell the restaurant was "in the weeds". While standing in line, I noticed several groups of people at tables, along with a couple, and a very angry woman sitting alone. None had food yet, and several were shooting glances towards the kitchen angrily. This lead me to believe they had been waiting a while. After they took care of the line of people ordering, and the angry lady whose order was incorrectly made and remade, we sat down with our drinks. One of the ladies in front of us in line was obviously friends with the woman working the front counter. Which became more obvious as she got her food shortly after sitting down, as the rest of the people that were already here hadn't received their food yet. The employee also joined her at her table to chat and go through a bag of stuff from Popshelf. You could hear several comments from the diners about this as it happened. They all eventually got their food, and not in the order in which they placed the orders.
Now to the food. (Which was hard to order because they had no working menus on the screens. Ended up having to Google the menu just to order.) I ordered my food at 2:36pm.
I received the Double Cheeseburger and curly fries at 3:08pm. The cheeseburger was warm, not hot. The meat was dry, flavorless, and tough. And my bun was stale and hard in places. While I have to commend the freshly cut fries, they were not cooked crispy at all, nor were they salted.
While waiting for our food, a woman showed up and started directing employees and asking questions from the customer side of the counter. I assume she was management, because she inquired about dishwashing staff not being there, and then fixed their digital menus before leaving.
Restaurant needs better management, better ordering procedures, and BETTER FOOD. Really disappointing meal. Could've gotten a better burger...

Efficiency seems to be lacking from this kitchen crew. While yes there is something to be said about having your order made fresh, there is another issue when you only have the one cook making two to three burgers at a time. Another issue is when the front counter worker goes to sit with her friend (who received her food way before several customers who ordered before her btw) and have a nice chat about whatever she had gotten at Popshelf. I had read several amazing reviews about this place and really wanted to try it but when three groups had not received their order including my partner and I but a to-go order that was placed after us already had their food prepared. Also the digital menu boards were down so thankfully we could pull the menu up on our phones and order. Someone showed up and thankfully fixed the menus but then decided to have a chat with the kitchen crew while again people sat and waited for their food. We waited approximately 45 minutes for our food. If this is the norm then maybe Tasty Burger should re-evaluate its business model. It's apparent that something isn't so Tasty at Tasty Burger.
The food was a standard burger, the bun was stale, and the overuse of pickles made the burger more lukewarm than hot. The Philly fries are good, piled with strips of steak, onions, and a white cheese sauce. The pictures from other reviews looked so tantalizing and delicious, this was just something I could make at home and for $20...I don't think...
Read moreTasty Burger is a classic. Attached to Panek's gas and grocery, you don't expect much when you see it; but, trust me and the 20 cars in the parking lot, this place is excellent.
They have a large menu and I'm certain everything on it is great. I wouldn't know though because I can't get past the bacon cheese burger. Loaded with fresh cooked, crispy bacon, beef cooked to perfection, topped with mayo, lettuce, pickle and tomato, it can't be beat. Best burger I've ever had.
Fresh cut fries, tater tots or fresh battered onion rings are all cooked to ideal crispiness and never over salted. The most difficult part is deciding which one to get.
Tasty Burger has refined and perfected their burgers as well as their service. The people working here are kind and attentive. Patient with children and indecision.
You order at the counter and fill (& refill) your own drink. You will likely wait in a short line when you come in, but it's quick. Then, sit down and enjoy the ambience in this old fashioned burger joint while you wait just a bit for the best burger you may ever eat. (they don't make it until your order it)
Recently when we were having some building done on our property I asked what the tradesmen were doing for lunch. The response was immediate, "We're going to Tasty Burger! That's the best part about working a job...
