It is very inconsistent. Hardly anything is homemade. Don't come expecting diners of the past. The catfish is good, on occasion. Soup Beans have no seasoning. Slaw is not the best and inconsistent - sometimes sour like it is old and sometimes over mayonnaised, nor the mashed potatoes - not homemade. Get a burger (it may not be burnt), fish, livers, or something fried. They have breakfast all day but I am not a breakfast eater often so I can not comment on that but that is likely your best bet. It will actually have to be made. Pie is grocery store pie. I have ate there a lot because I have a family member who likes to stop for specials when we are out. It is certainly not the best mom and pop. Cleanliness is questionable and if you pay attention you will see it too. The bathroom is gross though. It has not been cleaned good in a LONG time. The back of the commode and bottom are always disgusting. I bypass that because I have to sit on that throne if I go. Drive another few miles in either direction. Eat at the Maple Leave in Church Hill or at Country Kitchen in Surgoinsville. You will be happy you did. Almost everything on both those places menus are good. Bypass Randall's. I have NO idea how they stay in business. I've been there probably 50 x and never left thinking 'That was pretty good!' I have tried so many things and never had...
Read moreWell, I was looking for a country viddle's place where I can have something good for breakfast. The breakfast menu was Fair with choices.but they did have biscuit and gravy. I asked the Very sweet lady who was serving me about the biscuit And gravy was it homemade gravy she said. Yes, I ask was it sausage or bacon? She said sausage. Which it did have a sausage grease flavor in it but no sausage whatsoever in the gravy me personally. I prefer my sausage gravy to have sausage in it. But otherwise it was very, good. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was just a very country. Diner type atmosphere which is Great with me. At my own restaurant when I get it open in Johnson City Called Swampy's Cajun Cafe.If I have breakfast items. My menu will include actual sausage, gravy and actual bacon gravy both. Otherwise, it is a Cajun restaurant with the finest Cajun food, this side of the Mississippi river. This all being said I would most definitely be returning likely on a regular basis. I just love the family feel of the place. And all the staff was absolutely wonderful. Can't wait to try the desert it looks so good I think I just put on 5 pounds...
Read moreThis establishment has been a staple in my community for several generations, and I can't wait to bring my grandkids here when I'm a fat old man.
The food is always cooked to perfection, no matter what dish you order, I've never had a bad meal here. This is the best place in East Tennessee to get a Western omelet, a plate of chicken livers, and a few slices of butterscotch pie.
Kara is one of the most kind people working here. She always has a warm smile on her face, is friendly, personable, and benevolent. She keeps your drink filled and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome.
Marie and Ellie always greet you the moment you set foot inside, and both are a beacon of hospitality.
All of the other folks working here are also fantastic.. Renee, Bonnie and the ones behind the scenes.
The building is clean, well kept, and decorated beautifully. You can tell that all members of management take pride in their craft.
There's no other business that I've been to in my whole life that makes me feel at home more than Randall's in Church Hill. Thank you all for...
