I only eat here once in a while cause it's less than a mile from my house. The food is just OK. Pizza and calzones are passable for pizza but the crust (neopolitan or Sicilian) doesn't have a lot of flavor and is usually under done. The cheese is never melted enough. I think they use a weird mozzarella cheese maybe pre shredded which never melts as well as fresh shredded. With some seasoning in the crust and maybe a better mozzarella and cooking the pizza for just a minute or Two longer I would increase my ranking. The long time locals seem to love it probably cause it's the only pizza place besides Domino's and Pizza Plus (both awful) in Church Hill. I came from a pizza mecca where I used to live with at least 10-20 amazing pizzerias. I haven't found that here in the tri cities. The pizza here tries to mimic NY style but falls very short on most occasions. ROMA is no exception. I do have to say their prices are very affordable. So I will give them that. I give the service a 4 cause they do try to take care of you. 3 for atmosphere. Its a dingey hole in the wall restaurant not fancy or pretty inside. Just a basic restaurant. Nothing you'd feel bad missing if you order take out. With a little work to the menu and a few Ingredient changes I think their pizza has potential but at the current time...
Read moreI really like this place. The reasons why extend beyond the pizza, which tastes uniquely different from any of the others in the area, but Romas 2 is kind of rural and in the middle of nowhere. Yet it's seemingly always busy whenever I go there (mostly call- in for pick up 10-20 minutes later..., and then take the pizza back home), but so on any given day, ...or night, that whenever I go to pick up a pizza, it seems like they are busy, and tables are mostly full of people eating.
And I should mention the wait staff, which isn't but a few different people, are always polite and curious, but their interactions are always short. Never in a rude way, but more they seem maybe just more genuine somehow. ~Although they are probably the restaurant located nearest my home, so most convenient in terms of proximity, the honest truth is that Romas 2 is my favorite locally, and is my most frequent choice whenever I'm...
Read moreCan we just say OMG. AMAZING. We ordered the spicy chicken pasta, which was the best I've ever had. We also ordered two different Stromboli's, wings, Cesar Salads, Greek Salad, cheese bread and to top all that off We were given a dessert on the house because we were there celebrating our daughter's birthday. We are new in town and this is now one of our favorite places to go. Since this post, we continue to go back on a regular basis. We are beyond pleased with each and every visit. Udate. The wings are so good. Also Italian subs, and mozzarella sticks. Tiffany works her butt off there. She is constantly going. Waiting on all the tables, running the register, taking the to go orders, fixing our salads, and then cleaning. She's so amazing. She iscwhat makes this place an...
