This was such a cute shop! Iâm new to Cincinnati and came to the BonBonnerie because it was listed in the â100 things to do in Cincinnati before you dieâ book. The process is a bit confusing so learn from my mistakes: there is parking around the back of the store so that you donât have to pay for street parking. Just after the shop, turn left onto the oneway street, and the parking lot is on the left. There are 3 sections to the BonBonnerie; there is the bakery, the cafĂ©, and the tea room. If you just want to get sweets and head out, youâre looking for a whole cake/sweets order, or if you want a wider selection of sweets, go to the bakery first and see whatâs there before going to the cafe or tea room. Next, go down the steps to the right of the bakery to get to the cafĂ© and tea room. It can feel a bit maze-like as if youâre somewhere you shouldnât be, but follow the stickers on the floor and signs and youâll be fine. The cafĂ© is where you can order most classic coffee drinks and a selection of the most popular sweets. I ordered a small cappuccino and a chocolate caramel cupcake. The cappuccino was a little burnt-tasting and had a bit too much foam (iâm truly sorry, i sound like such a coffee snob, but i donât want to just be like âit wasnât very goodâ without actually describing what I mean), but it wasnât terrible either. I think if I were just getting coffee I would have been more disappointed, but obviously the point is to get a bonbon. If youâre dining in, your coffee will be served in a tea cup. Being served in a tea cup is super cute, but I would say on the coffee, even if youâre dining in, order it to go and then sit, because they served the small coffee in a tea cup, which seamed that the amount of coffee is somewhere between 8-10 oz, as opposed to a US standard 12 oz for a small and 16 oz for a regular. Finally, get the Opera Torte (either cake or cupcake). Itâs their specialty, and deserves a try. I didnt realize that before I ordered what I did (which was totally my bad, since it was posted everywhere), but iâll definitely be back with my partner to try it because overall, it was super cute and their cupcake was amazingâeven just out of the freezer, the icing was still sort enough to bite into. Highly...

They not only have faboulous tasting cakes they have ladies that work with you to give you what you want. I can not say enough about what great professions they are.
I came in wanting cakes made specifically for these cake stands shown, my design in my head . Another bakery (3 sweet girls bakery) said couldn't be done....but BonBonerie said it could. We worked together and I did the tube lighting and had cake table decor ready for them when they came in. The lady from BonBonerie is a breath of fresh air during a hectic time of getting a wedding together. I am so glad I went there. I wasted my time going to places that make money on tastings...they charge you to taste horrible cakes.....Not here....you don't pay for tasting ...BonBonerie knows they have fabulous cakes and want your business.
Go online and schedule an appointment for wedding cake tasting. So many fabulous flavors of these wonderful cake it will have you wanting all the flavors. We had 3 flavors Ameritoâ, lemon Romance & white with strawberry filling (âtoo good). At that appointment you talk style, design you want and guest estimate. They will estimate cost and you can give deposit to save the date if you decide to use them.
I thought they would be outragously costly, rumored by many, but I was greatly surprise how reasonable they was compared to others. From $600 up you can have an unbelievable cake that not only looks beautiful and fabulous taste your guests will đ love. Costs vary from the design, flavors, amount of people.
They also have a tea room for lunchs and more. A bakery to buy rolls, cakes and so many yummy items. These items may be pricier than some but the wow factor of taste cant be beat!
Once you try them you will know why they...
Read moreWe had such an awful experience for high tea today, our first time. We were a party of 5 adults and 2 preschoolers scheduled at 11:30. One adult arrived 5 minutes early to check in and the rest of us walksd in at 11:31 and were seated. We then waited 15 min without a single person greeting or acknowledging us. Meanwhile, the A/C is not on and we're all swesting. At 11:45, I got up and kindly asked a staff member who our server was, and was told someone would be right over. Another five min pass by before our server comes over and explains we each get 1 tea and there'll he an assortment of food on the platters. She then swiftly walks away and I quickly called her back to ask for water. She then brings ONE warm bottle of water for the table (not enough for SEVEN glasses). Another ten min pass by before we stop her to ask for ice water and ask if the A/C can be turned on/up. After getting some cold water and feeling the temperature normalize, we all felt a little better.
Once the teas and platters arrived, I'll admit the platters of food were very underwhelming. For seven people, there were only 3-4 of each type of sandwich. Moreover, the desserts on the top only included some cheap sugar cookies and truffles.
To add insult to injury, my mom felt slighted because the tables of melanin-free people were constantly being checked in on while we (POCs) were not.
Finally, a ~$50 gratuity was automatically added for a complete lack of service. Would not ever...
