This place is what people miss about going to chain restaurants. I sat by the owner, Pavlo, at the counter. He introduced himself as such and greeted me warmly. He told me a bit about himself and the establishment and treated me like a special guest. Hint* If you are ever traveling solo and find a place like this, sit at the counter. You will be treated like a regular. The servers were all very busy, but took the time to check in with me, joking, asking if I needed anything, and keeping a close eye on my to go order's status. Pavlo's wife was also there and was making certain that the customers were all happy. As I was leaving, I mentioned that my husband and I were eating in the car because our dog was with us and it's too hot to leave her there. I was immediately welcomed onto their front porch which is lovely, has large ceiling fans, and is pet friendly. Well, that ticked my last box for, "This place is a real step back in time, in all the best ways." If you are near Auburn, NY, stop by. I promise you will enjoy a good meal, with happy servers, and an attitude that you are welcomed and valued as a patron. I wish more of these places were still around. So please ho to this one, and help it stay firmly grounded on the map. "Live long and prosper," Pavlo and...
Β Β Β Read moreNot a great experience for our first time. Saw nice ratings and decided to give it a try. Was seated outside. We called ahead so we were sat right away. Waited 57 minutes for our food, that was less than mediocre. Our waitress didnβt actually come to our table at all during our almost hour long wait. She came to clean a table next to ours and thatβs when my husband had to grab her attention to get a refill on the coffee. The sausage gravy looked weird and tasted even worse. No flavor, tasted like you were eating soupy chunks of cubed up sausage patty in flour water. Ordered crispy hash browns, they came out mushy and totally without flavor. Corned beef hash was also ordered crispy and it was barely cooked. Eggs, bacon, and sausage links were good. Sourdough toast was delicious. Eggs Benedict was also good, the English muffin was soggy (but my husband likes it that way). Wouldn't recommend or return. Prices are pretty...
Β Β Β Read moreAs a tourist, I searched for good breakfast near me and was so glad I chose Pavlo"s. Even at 10 am on a weekend, getting a seat was quick (I sat at the counter, so nostalgic). The soda fountain had Cherry Coke π― and the menu was straight forward. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the toast options plentiful (yay, sourdough), and the home fries were good.
But, this review is not about the food, because the place is only as good as the service and the wait staff here were inspirational. If you removed the stacked plates and hot coffee in their hands, you can easily envision the wait staff as a ballerinas, gracefully dancing in sync in the tight spaces. But, don't mess with these ballerinas, they are dedicated to their jobs and the kitchen bell never stops ringing.
Kudos to your team for delivering excellent service and delicious food. And thanks for the...
