If I could give zero stars I would. My clients and I had a terrible experience at Saratoga National Golf Course. In August, I initially treated them to 18 holes of golf at $150.00 each, but our round got rained out after just 9 holes. The Pro Shop issued us a rain check, promising we could return and complete the remaining 9 holes before October 31.
However, when we attempted to redeem our rain check on October 5, we were met with disappointing news. The person at the pro shop desk informed us that to play the remaining 9 holes, we would need to pay an additional $120.00. We were taken aback and asked for an explanation. It was then that we were told that they didn't offer a 9-hole rate and that we would have to pay for all 18 holes, even though we had already paid for the full round initially.
Essentially, Saratoga National Golf Course attempted to double-charge me and my business clients, turning our $150.00 round of golf into an astonishing $270.00 round. To make matters worse, I had driven three hours from central NY to honor the rain check voucher THEY HAD ISSUED, only to be told it was practically worthless.
This kind of business practice is utterly unacceptable and it’s the type of unprofessionalism that reflects poorly on a club. Most clubs are welcoming and eager to help their players - not this club. What would it have cost them to honor the rain voucher that they gave us? Nothing. Was there another paying customer waiting in the queue that they could have made money on instead of us? No. But even if there was, is that the right thing to do to us right before our tee time? No. They had every opportunity to make it work out for us and simply honor their voucher, but instead chose to alienate us. Quite astonishing really.
As a business owner myself, I couldn’t imagine treating one of my customers this way and attempting to double charge them for a service they already paid for. It's disheartening to see a course with such potential resort to tactics that feel exploitative and unfair to paying customers. We expected a more reasonable and customer-centric approach, especially given the circumstances. Saratoga National has lost all future business from me and my corporate clients, who I cannot risk having another a bad...
Read moreThis review is for the events team at Saratoga National. My husband and I had our wedding reception at the National and the team did an absolutely amazing job! We had an incredibly positive experience working with Eliyana and Echo leading up to our big day and they did everything to make sure our wedding reception was perfect. They were both wonderful with communicating promptly, answering any questions and meeting as many times as we needed. We chose the tent for our reception and it was stunning! Echo and Eliyana also helped us bring our vision to life and had A lot of great advice and insight as we planned our big day. Anytime I had an idea of how I wanted things to look, they helped make it come to life. Plus, they made the process so fun and easy!! The food was exceptional, the layout of the tent and cocktail hour was so perfect, the entire team working on the actual day of the event were accommodating, caring and ensured every detail was met. The bridal attendant, Donna, was attentive and took care of us and our family the entire day. The whole team treated us so kindly and made us feel so special. For example, later in the night my hair was getting a little sweaty from dancing so I asked the bartender if she had a rubber band (I could have gone upstairs to the wedding suite to grab a hair tie but didn’t want to miss too much dancing!). She literally took her own hair tie off and gave it to me. When I tell you they did everything they could to be sure we were happy I mean it!!! They made our day so fun, stress-free and everything we hoped for and more. Our guests absolutely raved about every detail of our venue including the food, facilities and service. As a bride and groom, you put trust in your venue that they will make your vision come to life and Saratoga National absolutely did that. They took care of every little detail and all my little requests I made along the way. Plus, the venue itself is absolutely stunning. Mazzone did an excellent job with all the food and working with them was a pleasure as well. They made the food tasting a great experience for us and customized our menu to exactly what we wanted. Cannot recommend Saratoga National enough if you are planning a wedding in...
Read moreI have played this course many times and have always had a great experience. Today was different, I brought 3 of my buddies that had never played it and I had talked it up quite a bit. We tee’d off and the group ahead of us were getting to the 2nd green so they were already a full hole and a half ahead of us. The front 9 was a good time without incident. At the turn we all ordered sandwiches and proceeded to wait 20 minutes for them, of course the group behind caught up and now was ordering. After another 5 minutes a ranger told us they would bring my sandwich out to us and that we could tee off on 10. We did and my sandwich (pulled pork) was delivered when we were hitting our 3rd shot. The sandwich was ice cold but I dealt with it. On the 12th hole the same ranger was waiting for us on the tee, he told us there was 2 1/2 open in front and we needed to pick up the pace. We explained to him about when we tee’d off on 1 and the gap that was already in front of us, I also pointed out (which I shouldn’t have had to) about the lunch delay but he didn’t wanna hear it and was rude about the whole thing. By the way we were not holding anybody up and the group behind had just tee’d off the previous hole. We then got to 15 and was met with a different ranger giving us the same spiel, by then we were almost 2 holes ahead of the group behind us. I explained to him what had gone on and he seemed to listen but still said we needed to close the gap. By then we were like ok whatever. This as you can tell really ruined it for the 3 first timers here and tainted all the positives I had spoke about before the round. I’ve come to expect a great day when I come here but this was just a hassle and harassment ridden round for no reason. Don’t know if I will be back . I will give props to the course conditions tho, they were...
