El patrón mexican grill Clarksville TX — Restaurant in Clarksville

I haven't had much success at this restaurant. It is rated highly but I am now convinced the employees and their friends and family must be posting reviews.

I've tried El Patron three times as I have worked in the food industry and believe every place can have an off night. The first time I had food brought to me from the restaurant and it was acceptable, not great but not bad.

The second time I went to the location with a family member to place an order to go. We were completely ignored for 20 minutes. I know you're wondering why 20 minutes and although there were customers seated at tables, I can't honestly say. People came in after we did and were acknowledged and seated in 5 minutes or less, but those people were not my race. We did however finally get an order in and left. My order was completely incorrect and so I ended my night with chips and salsa for dinner.

My latest meal was because a coworker selected El Patron as our Friday dinner treat. This time I checked the orders before leaving and had obviously missing items added. Unfortunately, I did not verify the dinners were made correctly. The fajita dinner was to be a combination meal and the other meal was to be a chimichanga. We ended up with an enchilada plate and a double order of one type of fajita meat. The "cheese" was such that we were not certain whether it was really mustard so the enchiladas were terrible. Another meal in the trashcan.

El Patron is not the place to eat. We're going to try the other Mexican food restaurant for our once a week stop although I have heard their salsa is more like ketchup which...

My family has visited this place for as long as it has been open. They had an owner change last year sometime, and the people we loved their most, took over! They are making great food in a great atmosphere! Their is one waitress there who knows our hole families order, and she is so sweet to the great grandparents! The food is great, especially for this small town. This place would do well in a big city as well! The chips and salsa are awesome, the fajitas, the burritos, the quesadillas are all top notch. ATTENTION: EL PATRONS restaurant in Clarksville Texas is over charging it's customers and in a bad way they argue about it they charged me $39 for a $10 taco plate and a shrimp cocktail ice tea and water should have been $25 but I ask how many shrimp they put in the shrimp cocktail thinking they had made a mistake they brought the cook out and he told them 15 I ONLY ASK BECAUSE I HAD 7, then he rang up my bill and added $14 dollars I still left a 20% tip but they are scandalous I have eaten there many times and always have the shrimp cocktail always great today was the exception and the owner was...
