Get Yourself Here! Ever driven three hours just for lunch? We have, and did it again yesterday; a sunny fall Friday, and lunch was totally worth it! We drove from Bella Vista to Hagarville taking the scenic route as any seasoned road trippers would! We took 412 from Springdale, 21 towards Boxley Valley, then 123 into Hagarville and Hagarville Grocery. Weāve wanting to go since this place popped up on my social media feed. JT welcomed us with a cheery āhi folks,ā and and hour later, with our bellies full, he sat with us as I got to feed treats to the famous Jolene, JT and Abagaleās sweet White Boxer. When we told JT we were 1 vegetarian and 1 vegan, he asked us what flavor profiles we liked, and any strict dietary restrictions before creating our specialized sammies! I got a vegetarian version of the Cajun Momma with fried eggs instead of turkey, and-OH MOMMA was it delicious! The house made pickles, Slap Ya Momma seasoning, and ranch potato chip topping made this sammie special! I also had a delicious house made potato salad that had the perfect amount of dill. So good! Greg had the vegan version with vegan turkey, vegan cheese, and topped with French fried onions on a pretzel roll. Oh my! He couldnāt stop with just a sandwich, so JT made him a vegan Chicago dog with an out of this world āneonā relish! Weāll definitely be back and hope to meet Abagale! Friends, life is short. Take the scenic routes, enjoy the drive, meet cool people, try new places, and support local...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the only fuel or food stop in the area, and is located right at the intersection of highways 123 and 164. The owners are sweet, country people, that treat you like an old friend.
They carry ice, snacks, soda pop, staple food and grocery items, paper products, propane refills, a few popular ammo calibers and shotgun shells, etc. They have those delicious Petit Jean deli meats like I grew up with, and will happily make you a fresh-to-order sandwich. We like to take a drive from Clarksville, stop at Hagerville Store to get sammies and chips, and then go to beautiful Haw Creek Park down Hwy.123 to eat.
This is one of the few old-time country stores left, that's just like there used to be everywhere back 50 years ago. Going in here is like a trip back in time for me, and brings up lots of great childhood memories.
I think Christmas Day is nearly the only time they ever close. Whether you're camping at Longpool, at deer camp on Piney Creeks WMA, hiking one of the nearby trails, or taking a scenic weekend drive in the mountains, it's the place to go for what you need when you realize you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHagarville Grocery has long been on my "need to visit" list of Arkansas eateries. I first caught wind of the place due to the wonderful efforts of "The Mighty Rib," a Little Rock-based foodie who has done a magnificent job of profiling food offerings across Arkansas. As such, when work took me close enough to Hagarville Grocery to make not stopping to experience the place a crime which I could not forgive myself for, I obviously had to pay them a visit. Start to finish, it was highly gratifying. I'm not one to pop out my phone to take pictures of my food (others here have done a fine job of photo-documenting the myriad of culinary offerings) but my "Dogmother" sandwich was truly delicious. I also had a blast visiting with JT as he made my sammich (as Haggarvillians term them), learning about the random twists of fate that brought them from Cali to rural Arkansas. He was witty and gracious and made the dining experience great. This place is a gem, as are the owners. Stop into Hagarville Grocery and...
