Brown's Bar — Restaurant in Clay Township

Been here a bunch of times before and had good service and good food, other then waiting 45 minutes to an hour for some burgers to come out when they're busy. Not today.

The other day a group of 5 of us sat down at a dirty table asking one of the bussers to grab our server since we haven't been helped in at least 5-10 minutes. One girl comes by and asks us if we've been helped. She said she would go grab our server. Another 10 mins comes around the same servers comes by and takes our drink order meanwhile told her we are ready to order food. We put in some appetizers (cheese stick and nachos) as well as a few burgers. 30 mins goes by I ask the server to make sure our appetizers come out before our food. She gives me a weird look like she forgot them or something. 45 mins to an hour goes by all our food comes out minus our appetizers except one order of cheese sticks out of the two we ordered. I ask our waitress where are our other appetizers and she says they're coming out. At this point they brought out the appetizers, I told them to take it back and that we don't want them anymore. Our waitress tells us that she's going to grab the manager. 10 minutes goes by we don't see the manager. I ask one of the bussers to grab the manager and he came in a few minutes. Explained to him the situation and he was copping an attitude saying it's the kitchens fault, blah, blah, blah. Told him that our server should be making sure all our food is right. He told me shes to busy dealing with drunk people and she doesn't have time for that. Also told him that I asked my burger to be cooked "WELL DONE" and it was cooked medium well. He's like "no, that's cooked well done" Excuse me, but I believe well done is "No pink". I asked him to take that off my bill.

Waitress was rude, Manager was rude, probably wont be getting my business again. I get it, they were busy. But for days like that. Get you...

My kids, my husband, and I waited an hour and a half while everyone else was piling in and being served. Meanwhile we were told nobody is able to put orders in for another ten minutes, we said no problem. The waitress then must have forgot our table and never put our order in.

People around us kept being served, yet they arrived a good hour after us!! We stayed quiet.

After we got our order, the table next to us spoke up and said to us, ”Didn’t you guys get here an hour before us?”, and we said yes!

Our food got delivered…..The waitress asked if we needed anything and I said yeah our kids food should be covered for terrible service and she says you can talk to my manager and I said, “No, You talk to your manager!” So she brings the manager over and the manager yells at me for letting her waitress know that our food was never brought until the other tables were served who arrived 45 minutes- 1hour after us. She told me I was rude and wrong for treating her server bad. She said the other people who noticed are all drunk and don’t know what they are talking about. I just said what are you talking about, stood up, and told my two kids and my husband let’s go. When l stood up she said, “Good go!” Shouting to me and my kids!! What the heck. She then grabbed my arm, twisted the skin on it, and said don’t yell at me and broke blood vessels in my skin! Other people were shocked!

I pushed her off and left with my kids and my husband told her she was wrong as hell, and she kept saying all these customers are drunk. What a scary situation.

Don't go here at all. Or go to drink, but be careful…. And don’t bring kids at all. Not safe!!! Not safe at all when a waitress can put her hands on someone and it’s okay! The bouncers let her do...

The food, table service, and atmosphere was great. However, the staff manager was absolutely horrible to his staff. He was yelling at them like you have never seen before (including swearing). When called out, he doubled down and said that both of his daughters work there and the rest of his staff are like his children and that they need a firm hand. Proceeded to tell me that I must have never worked in hospitality. I explained that is not the case!! I told him that does NOT mean that you can treat your staff that way!! He felt like he could belittle and yell at his staff the way he does because and quote “ this is a seasonal restaurant and it’s crazy!”. He then shouted at the staff by our table asking them to answer if they like working here?! Everyone in that restaurant was staring. Also, It was also about to storm, and another server came up to us ( I believe his daughter) and told us that she could kick us out. Like what?! We have all been to busy restaurants, that are open year round, and they do not treat their staff this way. I will never be back and my family(who were with us and recommended this restaurant) said the same. Again, our food was good, and our server was good. This was just not something that you can just turn your cheek on…just absolute terrible treatment to the staff and instead of being embarrassed of someone speaking up for them, he decided to yell at the patrons.
