A Disappointing Experience with Bizarre, Inflexible Policies
My party and I dined at Bella Sorella Pizza on October 2nd, and unfortunately, the experience was profoundly disappointing from start to finish. While we had hopes for a great local pizza place, we were met with average food, inedible items, and a set of shockingly rigid policies that made for a frustrating meal.
The most baffling issue is the restaurant's strict "no additions" policy for their pizzas. The menu features 11 specific pizza combinations, and you are absolutely forbidden from adding any toppings. You can only remove them. Want to add mushrooms to a pepperoni and sausage pizza? Not allowed. Want to order a simple deluxe with a few standard toppings? Impossible, as it's not one of their pre-set options. For a pizza restaurant to not allow customers to customize their toppings is simply unheard of and gives off a "take it or leave it" vibe that is not customer-friendly.
The food itself did not make up for the strange rules. The pizza was average at best, but the salad was inedible. The dressing was so overwhelmingly sour and bitter that our entire table found it disgusting, and we had to send it back. The issues extended to the basics: drinks were served in minuscule glasses, barely larger than a shot glass, and our water came with no ice. When we requested straws, we were told they don't provide them because they are a "fine dining" establishmentâa claim that clashes sharply with their flimsy, non-laminated paper menus attached to a clipboard.
Beyond the food and policies, the dining environment was uncomfortable. The evening sun streamed through the large windows, blinding us as we tried to eat. The restaurant is in desperate need of blinds or high-quality window tint. To cap it all off, they charge an extra fee for paying with a credit card. In this day and age, penalizing customers for using the most common form of payment feels outdated and unwelcoming.
Due to the combination of inflexible ordering, poor food quality on some items, and a host of customer-unfriendly policies and environmental issues, I cannot recommend Bella Sorella Pizza. We will not be returning, and I would advise others...
Read moreNever had a chance to try the pizza. If you are a party of two and are disabled do not eat here. We are a couple of 2. My husband is a 70 yr old Vietnam disable blind veteran. They tried to seat us at the smallest table for 2 in the isle. First time in 43 years of marriage we felt discriminated against. I asked to be seated at a 4 person table by the wall and was denied. Guess the customer does not matter, all about the money. The table top was so small I would be unable to assist my spouse to cut up his food. Let alone no place for his blind cane. He has trouble eating so he would have been on display for all to see. Shame on you. I hope you never have to walk in his shoes as you would never make it. Trying to seat him at that tiny table was a disgrace. No excuses please you made it very clear we are not welcome or any other handicap person. I am still so upset!
I did not curse your staff. I was upset when I asked to be seated at the larger table where I could assist my spouse and was denied. Why did you not seat us at the 4 top when I asked? The staff assisting us asked you or another staff if we could sit at the 4 top and then proceeded to take us to the small table. There is no room at those tiny 2 person tables, let alone for someone who needs assist. I have never written a negative review in my...
Read moreTEN STARS! We want to express to you how great of an experience your team provided for Zach and Abby's wedding this past Saturday at the Round Barn Venue in Piqua, Ohio. More importantly, the response from ALL OF OUR GUESTS: Every single person raved about your pizza. We were told over and over that this was hands down some of the greatest wedding reception food they have ever had. Every style pizza was absolutely phenomenal! Your Caesar Salad is like no other and each guest had a specific pizza they loved but one thing everyone agreed on. Your Caesar Salad is the greatest tasting Caesar salad they ever had. My wife and I agree as well. The sauce, the fresh lettuce, the unique croutons are one of a kind, repeat, something about those croutons!! Everyone raved over and over and over about that salad!
Special Note: Bella Sorella systematically served all 134 of our guests for two hours straight. Everyone was able to get 2-3 rounds of food and after an hour and a half the line had died down significantly. The two hour window is awesome and allows plenty of time for every single guest to fill up without feeling rushed. Great Job! 100%...
