This Bakery puts XYLITOL in their sugar free cheesecake, but doesn't inform customers. We bought one for our son's birthday on April 18th, 2024.... Leftovers were on our kitchen table, our beautiful dog, Astro, got ahold of it when no one was looking and ate a few bites. Unaware that this cheesecake was pure poison for dogs, we went about our day after scolding Astro and throwing out the cheesecake.
The next morning we discovered Astro had vomited everywhere.... Ugh, it took an hour to clean up. Astro was lethargic and had no appetite. We assumed it was a stomach bug and she'd be fine the next day. She wasn't. We took her to the animal hospital....
Thousands of dollars later-the vet informed us- Astro's liver was failing because of the Xylitol she'd ingested (Vet had called bakery to confirm ingredients). There was nothing the vet could do for Astro - she told us Xylitol is the 1 poison that dogs just can't recover from.
My wife, 3 kids and I drove to the Animal hospital- said goodbye to Astro and as the vet stated- Euthanized Astro to stop her suffering. Our family was/is devastated. Astro was less than 2 years old, strong and healthy and killed from a few bites of a cheesecake. If it could kill Astro, It could kill any dog.
Nothing can bring Astro back, I have no idea if Yhanne's has killed other dogs. I just hope this post may save others from the heartache/trauma that we are experiencing. We've decided as a family we will never eat...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI think when you enter an establishment you should feel as though all PEOPLE are treated the same. I had a bad experience with the owner about a year ago with there refund policy. She charged my card twice for the same item. Long story short she made it very difficult to get my money back even though she knew it was her mistake, after that I chose not to go back because I have a preference of when I spend my money it should be on something meaningful. Today my daughter goes to buy her brother a cheesecake for his birthday and the same lady was very rude to her. so much so my son went back into the store to ask why is it that you treat certain people nice and others you treat any kind of way? It does to much to treat people all the same . Needless to say they went back and forth but it only left my 19 year old daughter feeling awful for even mentioning how she was treated. I find that unexplainable that a business would tell someone how they should feel. You made her feel less than and why because you are so ignorant to certain people that you thought it was okay and itās not. The husband was the most wonderful and understanding person and I and my son appreciated that HE took the time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOMGOSH...ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. I grew up eating cheesecake in NY and thought all cheesecakes were alike...wall dense and heavy. I WAS WRONG. We have discovered that all cheesecakes are not created equal. Yhanne's House of Cheesecakes blew our minds. Its not heavy or dense and the flavor is wonderful. We tried their sugar free cheesecakes and we are hooked. We, my hubby Bill and I, make regular runs to get our supply of their mini cheesecakes which come in a variety of flavors. When we visit others, we make sure to volunteer to bring desserts. They are ALWAYS a hit. We are so excited and happy to recommend stopping by their cute bakery. When we enter, we just feel happy. And we're just joyfully overwhelmed by the beautiful cheese cakes. The owners, who are such a lovely husband and wife team, welcomes you with genuine "hello, how are you?" You are made to feel like you're the only one there even in the midst of others present. It's old school business that we wish other businesses could provide. PLEASE, TAKE THE RIDE ON DELSEA DRIVE AND STOP IN, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. ENJOY EACH FLAVOR AND GIVE THEM AS GIFTS, DESSERTS AND PLEASING SURPRISES TO THOSE YOU...
