There's no parking on premises, but it's not clear that is the case until you get in the lot and have to back out onto an incredibly busy road. So, you have to park in the city park parking lot across the street.
The entrance to the restaurant is not clearly visible and the main door has an arrow to the right for the restaurant so one assumes it is the next door to the right, but that door is locked. We then tried to go through the main door and the woman was incredibly rude and asked us what we were looking for, we said the restaurant and she just pointed to the right. So, we finally figured out that it was around the back of the building.
We went to the hostess and they got us a table for five. We waited at the table for half an hour and no one came to take our order. So, I finally went up to ask if there was a problem and they had forgotten to tell any server that we were there. They weren't really apologetic in the slightest, they barely apologized and blamed it on the hostess who was training, but how could you not know or observe that a family has been sitting and had no one at their table for half an hour is beyond me.
When our server did come, she was still not at all caring or empathizing with our experience so far. She said all she could do at that point was to take our orders, I said there was definitely more she could do. She said she would ask the manager to take a percentage off our meal. Of course they charged us full price, and didn't even give us a break on three kids' lemonades which were charged $3 each for.
The food itself was pretty good, but...
Read moreThe only good thing about this experience was the lake view. We were seated in the hot sun with no shade, despite there being tables with umbrellas elsewhere . The waitress was nice, but hard to understand. I didn't have a drink menu so asked if they have any IPAs (had seen one on a menu posted in a google review), she said they didn't have any but suggested I have a Lake Time Shandy instead. Odd, but I agreed. Then she gave me a random IPA anyway? It was fine since I got what I wanted, just confusing! Husband's $12 Cocktail was pretty much just juice.
The food we had was way overpriced for what it was. You have to pay $2 extra to "upgrade" to fries in the meals. My fish & chips cost me $17 with the upgrade, but the fish was close to burned and looked like those little crumbed fillets you get in the frozen section of the supermarket. I didn't get the fries I paid $2 extra for, until I mentioned it. Chicken sandwich was overpriced for what was essentially chicken on a bun, had to pay extra for tomato.
We'd seen amazing looking desserts posted recently by the owners here on google, so were looking forward to that at least, but most of the desserts on the website menu seemed to be unavailable, as the waitress only mentioned ice cream or a cheesecake. We got the cheesecake which was this shriveled up little puck and NOTHING like the photos posted. I rarely complain or post bad reviews but it seems that you're mostly paying for the beautiful view of the lake; the prices are way higher than their low quality food is worth. It was a pretty crap experience and would not...
Read moreI want to first say that I did feel bad for the staff on this day. It seemed like they were short staffed. However, it did also seem like 2 of the servers were doing most of rhe running around doing everything while a couple more were standing around talking. Anyways most of the food we got was tasty. However, the sangria my mother in law got was not very good. The mac and cheese my husband got looked hot, but then when he took a bite, it was cold. Like came out of the fridge cold. So we had them take it back to warm it up. When it came back, it was still not as warm as he wanted it, but he felt bad sending it back again. Whenever we needed our server she was either running around to other tables or we couldn't find her. This was the case when we were trying to order food, ask for more napkins, etc. Overall the wait time for everything when we were there was very long and we had our toddler with us who was getting tired and cranky. I believe we got there around 2 and didn't leave until after 4pm. Majority of that was because we were waiting for something at our table. Ordering, waiting for our food, waiting to be...
