Came in a few times to try the Polish Platter, being that I come from a background of that kind of food I was excited to order a dinner for my mom and I... The bartender was very nice, however was so disappointed on the Polish Platter. The city chicken was so dry and way too much gravy.. Should probably ask if you would like the gravy on the side or any at all... The Potato Pancakes we're not tasty at all š... I Love Potato Pancakes.. I don't know what was in them but I couldn't even eat them... The Dill pickle soup was delicious..... I've read some of the reviews and am disappointed with some of the remarks given back from the owner.. Example I read one that said " you must of been drunk when you wrote your review " .. Why would you even say that to a paying customer? I've been working in this industry for 37 years and I wouldn't handle it like that.... You should take the reviews and listen what a lot of people are saying .. Yes some say they Love it but I know that a lot of locals and family members want to support you and leave reviews and that is Great!! However it is important to be tactful when responding to customers that spent money in your established ... Maybe ask some unsatisfied customers what you could do to make it better? Some people just want to be heard and treated with respect. Believe me that goes a long way ..... I don't know your recipe for Potato Pancakes but I promise you that if you private message me and we talk about our different recipes and maybe just try another way, you will find people Loving them... I know some like them but honestly something is off can't put my finger on it... I'm Not trying to be rude, just honest..I wish all local businesses success... Sometimes it takes listening to your customers and making sure the food is always hot, presentable and consistently delicious... Thanks for reading. Best...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSpent $137 on food there. Ordered 3 polish platter, fried pickles, fried pretzel bites and loaded pierogies and a polish Reuben with tater tots.. The items in the polish platter was unseasoned which after I added my own seasoning was edible. However the waitress was giving us an attitude upon ordering saying that we could only get the farmers cheese pierogies and not the potatoes and cheddar ones. After we said we would cancel our order she said the cook would do it. The fried pickles were disgusting the batter was soft and mushy and all of it was dripping in grease... horrible. The pretzel bites were a full sized pretzel cute into slices and saturated in butter. Then all the pretzel salt was at the bottom of the box not even any on them. And the cheese that goes with it wasn't the best either. I was expecting pretzel nuggets when they said bites which might have tasted better. The Reuben was Turkey and cheese but the tots were very under cooked and had to be thrown out. The only thing that was worth its money was the loaded pierogies.. I got it without tomatoes and they were amazing! All in all I had to throw out the soggy pickles and saturated in butter pretzel bites cause they were gross. All this food definitely was not a $137 I would have expected to pay about $60 for the quality. Hopefully this post can save you some money before you go... it was definitely not worth my time or money to go get food from there...I was overall disappointed.... literally I wasted about $40 worth of food...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had Mother's Day dinner here. The kielbasa, both fresh and smoked were dried up and rubbery. The Chicken Marsala was tough! The stuffed cabbage is tasteless, and if you say you season it with salt & pepper, then you need to use garlic powder or anything more than what you use. The meat is tasteless Period! It tastes like cheap Beef from a Roll. Try using some Pork with a higher Grade of Beef.
The sauce you use is too much like spaghetti sauce from a cheap canned sauce. LIKE CHEF BOYARDEE! That sauce is overpowering, and tastes CHEAP! Let's move on to the Potatoe Pancakes.....they are mushy and over-cooked! If you eat at Polish Village Cafe, you know what potatoe pancakes should look like and taste.
If the owner is the cook, then do yourself a favor, and find a REAL POLISH COOK! A cook who knows how to season food.
The short list of good points were: Good service from the waitress Cole Slaw Fries Lemonade Bloody Mary Beer
We were hoping to have found a Gem in Polish Food, and we were all so dissatisfied with our meals. What we boxed up, we ended up throwing the food in the trash. Basically, the food IS TRASH! THE COOK HAS VERY LOW STANDARDS FOR WHAT HE CALLS "POLISH FOOD".
OUR EXPERIENCE WAS A TOTAL WASTE OF $179, PLUS A $35 TIP!!
BE AWARE, THE FOOD IS BELOW STANDARD! GET A REAL COOK! IT WAS A TERRIBLE DINNER. ALL EIGHT OF US CANNOT ALL BE WRONG. We will be spreading the word about our experience. REAL POLISH CUSTOMERS KNOW GOOD POLISH...
