My husband and I had our wedding reception at the event center on 9-21-24. At the initial meeting, she said there would be water and coffee out for our guests while they eat. Come the wedding day, there was nothing on the tables, forcing my guests to buy something to drink. There was a bar in the back of the room but they didn't take credit cards, so some of my guests went to the main bar to buy drinks. When they went to that bar they were ignored and some even had their change taken from them and put into the bartenders tip jar by the bartender! When it came time for the meal, Mary and I talked about 2 food options for people, fried chicken and chicken strips. The workers proceeded to give every person friend chicken so I started telling people to tell the waitress if they wanted chicken strips. Once they were told, they were very rude about it. My maid of honor got her plate which included the sides which were fine but her chicken was 2 small wings. Thank God DQ was open...In our first meeting with Mary, she told me we could clean up Sunday night. By 8:30pm she had the bartender bring boxes out saying we need to be cleaned up and out that night, cutting our reception short. I had family and friends come from out of town and out of state and I've never been more embarrassed in...
Read moreIf there is a way to leave fewer stars, I would. Mary, the "bartender/waitress," is missing her bus ride back to the nursing home. If your not a local, ya best pack a lunch, she'll be there when she's ready. Tonight, we went in to have a few drinks and play some pull tabs. We threw money in 2 of the 3 jars that were open. She mentioned that there was another couple (the only other couple in the bar) playing one of the jars we went into. She went and shut the jar down and pulled the tickets from the jar and proceeded to still sell them to the other couple. Never gave us another chance. Kinda shady in my eyes. If you buy out a jar, your only allowed so much at one time. They didn't have enough people to do it even though they supposedly "bought it out." I would never set foot back into that bar even if they were giving out free pounders. We were in there the night before and received service that most nursing homes would provide, extremely slow, We spent a ton of money in that same jar she shut down for her friends. So very dissatisfied with that so called bar. So we went to the sportsman bar and had a great time with a fun atmosphere. We are hoping the only 3 people in her bar had a great time too. Unbelievable how bad it was. Good luck...
Read moreWe had great broasted chicken, ribs and burger. Staff was great and the owners are usually right there behind the bar. It's a family friendly restaurant. Very clean resturant, bar and restrooms. Plenty of parking in front. As well as seating in the courtyard. Also if you're looking for a venue for your next event, this is the place - receptions, birthdays, meeting - they have the room to hold the event or just have...
