The food was good but it is a hostile environment for visibly indigenous people. Went out to eat with my Norwegian mother in law. Ordered seperate order for my husband since he forgot his lunch at home. As a bust teacher he does that from time to time. So, I prepaid and left the rest as a tip. She gave us our pancakes as requested in seperate bags but put the order in late so my husband's food would not be cold. (Grateful for the thoughtfulness) However, we never received the meal and when it came time to pay at the counter for our meals, they didn't have it ready nor had we received it. Waitress asked the cooks but at this point everyone isn't hiding their destain and acting like I shoved it up my skirt or something. The looks from the cooks started as soon as I walked up to the counter. Which its open area so you can hear them talk. Anyway, the waitress asked if she put it in the bag with our pancakes. It could have been an honest mistake but the felt animosity that followed was very uncomfortable and unnecessary. Cooks asked her and waitress responded that she would tell them about it later. We got our bags of pancakes before the seperate order was even put in. It was my first time there.. it will probably be my last. Got my husband's food with dirty looks, shortness and a mumbled apology and...
Read moreWe ordered and got are food. I asked for A1 and the waitress brought me 57. Not once did she come ask how are food was or ask to refill our drinks. Steak ordered medium rare had no pink in it but I was surprised it was tender. I noticed the table next to us also did not see the waitress until she dropped of the bill. When she brought my bill she did not ask how the food was, take the dirty plates or say thank you for coming in today. Simply said can I get you anything else. I went up to the counter and told the waitress of her lack of service and why she was getting zero tip. She looked at me dumb founded and said oh sorry. I have been in managing for 28 years 10 of that being in a restaurant. I have never felt compelled to tell the waitstaff directly about poor service. With the waitress giggling at the counter with the other employees she had time to give us even half assed service but she didn't. My husband said we'll we won't come here again. Lol. Wow is all I have to say and that I talk for a living and this cafe left a very sour taste with me. Please train your staff to be welcoming and thankful for the customers as we have many choices and unfortunately this won't...
Read moreI bring my Mom shopping and out to dinner once a week. We have been going to family tradition the last two weeks. The food is great! We both love the sweet potato fries. When you order a meal, a lot of times regular fries usually come with the meal but we ask to substitute sweet potato fries instead, other places, when you do that they just charge you a little more for the upgrade, at the family tradition , you pay the full amount AND you DON'T get the regular fries that you PAY for that comes with the meal. That seems a bit dishonest to me. The waitresses don't explain that , and I think that is wrong! When I was paying I asked the waitress about that , then she explained it. A customer beside me said oh I didn't know that either I'm glad you asked that question. So what I am asking is that you either fix and do an upgrade or have your waitresses explain that you pay full price on the sweet potato fries and you don't get the regular fries. Sad to say if we come back I will have to check my bill carefully! We really like the food but that little bit of " dishonesty"...
