We took our daughter out to dinner tonight so she could use her pizza coupon from school. Reading has been a struggle for her so the fact that she earned this reward is HUGE! Im so grateful to Sammy's for creating this program.
Our food was amazing! Our daughter had the personal pan pizza, my husband had the sausage calzone and I ordered the Sammys Sub with wedges. We ordered the brownie & ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious.....ESPECIALLY my sub. Ive tried toasted subs everywhere and nothing compared to this one!
Now that I've talked about all of that let me get to the TRUE purpose of this review and that is Kenzie! Wow! She was SO amazing! She greeted us with such a genuine smile that absolutely up the room! It was insanely busy but it never once felt rushed in any way. She took her time at our table and was extremely friendly, personable amd radiated so much joy and positivity. Kenzie took our little celebration dinner from special to exceptional and went above & beyond. She volunteered to take our picture saving us from the dreaded selfie fail that would undoubtedly occur. We all left there a little happier and my daughter felt extra-special. Her positive energy & genuine joy were contagious and I'm so grateful to have had the pleasure of being in her company in some small way today. Please pass on our gratitude and recognize her efforts. It's people like her that bring guests like us back! I hope your company values her and the work she does as much (if not more) than we do. ❤❤

Service:
I had the lunch special a few days ago and ended up with a severe stomachache and diarrhea. When I called the restaurant to ask if they could provide any compensation, they refused and explained that they would only take action if other customers were to complain about a similar thing happening to them.
Food:
The special is advertised as a single-serve pizza with four wings and a salad.
I received a pizza the size of a kids meal, and four wings with barely any meat. For the price of $14.55, the amount was nowhere near worth it, and really was not enough food for an adult to fill full and nourished.
I honestly felt insulted when the waiter brought me my pizza and I saw how small it was. If anything, they should just make the salad smaller, and rename the "lunch special" as the "kid's meal special" for $1 less.
The taste of the pizza itself was very below average; the texture of the cheese, Italian sausage, and pepperoni that I ordered as toppers were all strange and tasted either artificial or processed. On top of that, when making the pizza, they strangely placed the pepperoni beneath the cheese and Italian sausage, which made it appear like the pepperoni was not added to the pizza and was intentionally hidden from sight.
The wings were mainly dry, small, and were nothing to brag about in terms of taste.
Perhaps a combination of the below average quality of the food alongside the miniscule portion is what contributed to my stomach pain and sickness later...

Sammys pizza is a tradition that's been around 4 generations!! It has a taste like no other pizza and sauce around! Their menu is 100% Italian and, each item compliments their pizza with excellence! Yes, maybe.... It might b 2 some a tad bit spendy, but keep in mind, this is about as close as ur going 2 get 2 fine dining in a pizzeria. Chicken is prepared in at least 4 diff styles from broasted to fabulous wings, bone in AND boneless. Salads from wonderful taco 2 classic Caesar, greek ,chefs w fresh ingr cheeses and meats. THE PIZZA.... No wonder its award winning PIZZA!!! Yes its most definitely a family secret, but its 1 of those secrets u keep coming back 4 time after time. Its a secret u want to share with all ur friends and family wen nothing but enjoying great pizza will do!!! Menu is excellent,prices r still below the quality and value. Atmosphere is fun and up beat and reminds u what a pizzeria is suppose 2 be! Sit back and be reminded of little Italy and enjoy the BEST PIZZA Cloquet has 2 offer, and if that's not enuff, lasagna,sub's,spaghetti,chicken,fettuccini,calzones,soups,manicotti,rigatoni,ravioli,better than ur grandmas meatballs AND...a GLASS of Wine!
