The small town ambiance is felt immediately. As we drove through the town I didn’t have a very welcoming feel. The young bartenders, who also served as the cooks seem to be the heartbeat of the local watering hole of the town; I only hope they are compensated well for it. The menu was so vast it pushed us to order a quick appetizer and finish our drinks and leave. The Rookee’s Sampler was to consist of mozzarella cheese sticks, fried pierogis, chicken fries, pepper cheese balls, and onion rings. As with many bar foods that are deep fried variables can change any dish to something oily soaked and tasteless. The food had light texture and had their full flavors. The ratio of items was very unbalanced, we received one cheese stick and at least 8 onion rings.
