VanEffen’s Corner Deli & Market — Restaurant in Coe Township

I used to go to a fast food chain down the road a lot until I stopped at this place on my way to/thru Sheperd. Mitchell's breakfast burritos are just something you should try! Bacon, egg, fresh green pepper, crunchy onion, cheese, some sauce (not sure what) that makes my day. I was driving 23 mins out of my way one way daily to get them. Splash of hot sauce and I could die happy. We'll after the foods gone. They also sell alcoholic beverages, "cake pops" cool lil homeade dessert pops. Their deli is awesome, always friendly girls at counter and making food. Nice family owned small town vibe. My girlfriend and I tried some of the sandwiches one day and literally went back 40 mins later to get a couple more for dinner. Sweet chilli may is the bomb. Honestly, no BS every single thing I've tried is 100% quality. Owners should be proud of such a cool lil place. U can eat outside at the tables y have too. Check it Mitchell's gourmet deli....

This place has new owners now. It used to be Mitchell's now it's VanEffen's. A lot of the same stuff but I will say the service is well beyond what it used to be. Lot of the same food. There's new food. They have pizza balls now which are outstanding if you happen to be one lucky ones to get one when they are here. The owner was actually here working which was nice to see. We had the architect sandwich #7 and we tried a firecracker which was good and a pepperoni pizza ball which was fantastic. We also tried a fresh out of the oven slice of pepperoni pizza which was also really good. The crust was tender. Lots of flavor It's definitely worth the drive to Shepherd to try this place out. Mitchell's really is a small town gem. The owners are 2 of the most giving, sweet people, and their staff is top notch polite and friendly. We love walking into their Shepherd store, it smells amazing, there is usually a loud cheerful greeting, and often small conversation about our family, town events, or upcoming events. The food is delicious!! We have tried many, many things on their menu and have loved them all. Our favorite pizza is BBQ Chicken, my favorite sandwich is the Surfer Boy, and we love all the Mitchell Made chocolates and treats. If you haven't tried the Backwoods jalapeno mustard in the jar they sell... buy it,...
