Back Pocket is a super special place. Just magical. They've got a whole vibe going on, laid back atmosphere and awesome music. It's literally one of the coolest places in town. The staff are friendly and laid back as well. Their bread and pastries are delicious, BEST chocolate chip cookies. Plus the cinnamon rolls are freakin amazing. I love that they make it a priority to use non GMO flour and bake the bread sourdough style, without adding any oils. The city loaf (my favorite) contains butter, but that's not toxic like the seed oils and canola oils that are added to most commercial breads. Amazing drink selection as well. They have unique sodas, ciders, and even non alcoholic cider. They also make sandwiches and pizza. The birria grilled cheese was off the charts incredible. If you want to make sure you can bring home a specific loaf of bread, do call ahead to reserve it. There is always a line out the door every morning when they open at 10 am. And, no wonder! 10/10 - no other place like it.

Update 11-24-23: I tried the chocolate chip cookies, of which I'm a connoisseur and a snob. These are the BEST chocolate chip cookies I've ever had, and my 90 year old father agrees. Some have complained about the price. In a CITY these cookies would be $5-$6 and in Paris 8-9 Euros. Additionally, since my earlier review I've also discovered their Pretzel Baguette, Margherita Pizza and Avocado Toast, all are FANTASTIC. I myself didn't come here for chocolate chip cookies. I came for sourdough, real sourdough, sour that is still lingering in my mouth 30 minutes later. Real sourdough. This is real sourdough and now the best I've had in Coeur d' Alene. The stand up sandwich bread is also excellent. I'm a sourdough baker myself, for years, and sourdough sandwich bread has been my white whale. I may just concede and buy it here. Great job guys.

Back Pocket Bakery is an absolute gem in Coeur d’Alene! The food here is nothing short of amazing—artisan sourdough bread that’s perfectly baked, pastries that are both creative and delicious (the lemon-blueberry scone is a must!), and wood-fired pizzas with crusts so good you’ll remember them long after. The service is just as impressive. Every visit feels welcoming and personal, and I have to give a huge shout-out to Skylar—friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready with a great recommendation. Skylar’s positive attitude and genuine care make the whole experience even better. Yes, it gets busy (because it’s that good), but it’s worth every minute. If you’re in Coeur d’Alene and haven’t tried Back Pocket Bakery yet, you’re missing out!

We got into the place just before closing. So I can't speak to what they have when they open every morning, but they told me that they do scones and bagels. And I saw that they also have a pizza oven and several pizzas available. Very cute outside eating area. I wasn't going to get anything as they primarily had loaves of bread. Then I saw that they had some chocolate chip cookies, which I'm not a huge fan of but I got one for my son and i to share and one for my wife. When we started sharing it I realized that it was something very special: it was chewy but had some nice crispness and dark chocolate, plenty of it, with some coarse sea salt on top. Very special, very delicious cookie, one of the best cookies I've ever had and ,based on that, I'm sure many of their offerings are very good. I look forward to...
