I really really hate to post this, but I just have to let you know….. It was the most awkward, socially secluded, Disorganized, Restaurant experience I have ever had…… My wife purchased these sweetheart dinner tickets back in January because she thought it was gonna be very intimate and sweet and everything in between for our Valentine’s Day dinner last night when we celebrated it….
We got to the restaurant at 7:29 PM… And we got seated just after 8 o’clock with tons of open seating in the restaurant itself… We were sitting there, looking at each other, confused.. we got served champagne while we waited (we were tipsy before we even sat down from the champagne refills from waiting), Which was nice. The dinner was advertised at starting at 7:30 so we ended up getting a babysitter so we can enjoy our night together. We got home incredibly late. By the time We even started to get seated. I just wanted to do something different….
I love that my wife wanted to do something sweet for us and I will be forever grateful but it also was definitely not advertised whatsoever with any details except for the menu and pricing. We essentially were Marched outside of the restaurant and stuffed in a board room.. The people in there were not done yet eating from the 530 to 730 sweetheart dinner so that’s why we had to wait…. And people were essentially, POLITELY kicked out so we can be in there to eat…. There was open seating in the restaurant, In the boardroom, Even at the bar…. It was a little confusing.
It almost felt like you bought nosebleed tickets to an MLB game and had to sit all the way at the top and were treated differently because of the tickets that you purchased by other fans. The chairs reminded me of fold up card table chairs, The tables rocked Back-and-forth. I am 6’4 and I looked like I was sitting on a squatty potty in my sons bathroom.
The food was OK…. There were about five different servers going around to four tables with two people at each rushing back-and-forth, and it definitely felt crowded not from the people, but from the servers. Shout out to one of them I know what’s up, dude!
The guy playing guitar was great, but the speakers were so loud. I couldn’t hear anything my wife was saying to me and then we hear him say oh shoot bro I gotta go and packed up 20 minutes into the dinner and left….
Basically, I can go on and on… Again, I really hate to leave this review because up until my experience last night Beverly’s was my favorite place to go. And we have eaten here several times with high ticket bills… It sucks and it’s embarrassing I even have to express that because the seclusion last night was so awkward (i’m not bragging about us having money I guess because we DO NOT??? We have 3 WILD kids so that’s where the money goes😅🤣….. When my wife and I wanna spoil each other and spend time with each other, we wanna go somewhere nice! I think that’s normal. That’s what I mean). Kind of felt like “look at them paying for something that’s less than other diners….. let’s hide them” I don’t know…..the whole thing Was just very disappointing. I really don’t feel like going back anymore.
I’m sorry if this caused anybody issues posting this review but I just thought I would share my experience so other diners in the future don’t have to feel...
Read moreFor the last year now I have been making it a point to eat at some of the greatest restaurants in Spokane/CDA area. I've had many wonderful experiences and eating many wonderful things. To my severe disappointment, Beverly's contributed to this greatness in no way what so ever.
On the night of my visit to Beverly's I was actually dining at one of CDA's other restaurants at which I had a wonderful experience. When it came time for dessert, we were told by another group that we should go to Beverly's instead. We thought that this could be a fun experience, so we thanked out waitress and left.
Upon arriving at the restaurant we were greeted by two very friendly and fun young hostesses. They were very pleasant to interact with and led us to a nice table by the window over looking the lake. We sat there for awhile and were eventually given water by nice young gentleman who's name I can't remember. He was also very pleasant and professional. I asked him about his day and what he had been up to before starting his shift (I like to talk with people quite a lot), as he began to respond he was bluntly and brutally interrupted by quite possibly the least pleasant human I've come across since moving this side of the mountains. Her name was "Billie Joe" and never in my life have I experienced at a restaurant what she was about to do. She told the nice young man I was conversing with "That's good enough" in an attempt to have him leave, he then retreated very awkwardly leaving the conversation dead cold. Billie Joe immediately asked us if we had decided what we wanted, she did not tell us of any special dessert items, she did not offer any suggestions, when we told her that we had only just sat down she responded with a look that made us feel as if we had greatly wronged her. We noticed that we had not been provided a drinks menu so we asked for one. Rather than going and getting us a drinks menu Billie Joe decided that she ought to recite the soft drinks that were available, upon doing this she turned and left the table. I sat there flabbergasted and thought to myself that this surely was a joke. Eventually Billie Joe came back to fill up our empty waters, which she did by not even bothering to lift the glass off the table and causing water to drip every where. I asked her for a wine list and she begrudgingly brought me one. A wine that I am particularly fond of was on the list (J Lohr Cab Sav) so my girlfriend and I decided to split a bottle with our dessert. After 13 minutes Billie Joe returned to our table to ask us what we'd like to drink (I realized at this time that I wouldn't get to drink since I had lost my wallet with my ID in it several days ago and look under 30). Being a server myself I knew that she wouldn't be able to serve me alcohol so I didn't even try. She checked my girlfriend’s ID and left. When she returned with the bottle she said “a whole bottle to yourself, how nice.” In the most grossly sarcastic manner she could have mustered. Eventually our dessert arrived and we didn’t hear back from Billie Joe again, which was a blessing.
We left feeling unwanted, hurt, offended, and wondering how on earth someone who is so rude and unprofessional is allowed to keep their job at such a...
Read moreWon't be back and don't recommend you waste your time here. Atmosphere is 3/5 - only a 3 because you have the lake view, but the rest of the place needs a major facelift. Food 1/5 Service 2/5 Nothing what you expect when you're paying $50+ per entrée. Corkage fee is $75!!! Massive hair in our dessert - see photo. We were celebrating our anniversary, which I stated in the reservation made online - they tried to seat us in the worst seat in the house in the back, dark corner table by the kitchen with no water view. We then get seated a better table but still not great next to the som station. First round of cocktails took 10 min, my glass had water at the bottom from the ice cube melting while it waited at the bar for the server to pickup and pour the drink at the table - that’s how long she took to bring it. The house "signature" complimentary role had this gross sweet orange sauce on it - a sugar bomb before dinner, we took one bite and didn't touch it. We asked for the sourdough option and it was obviously not fresh, something straight out of a freezer is what it presented and tasted like but at least it wasn't a sugar bomb. The carpaccio appetizer was 2/5 stars, hardly any meat and too much mustard and onion. We ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for dinner and they brought massive pinot noir bowl glasses to drink it with. When we asked for white wine glasses we were presented with all the options available and surprise they don't have traditional white wine glasses - odd for how many bottles of wine they offer. The wedge salad had exactly 4 tiny pieces of bacon, maybe the same amount of chery tomatoes. Honestly one of the worst we've ever had. The lobster bisque soup was the worst we've ever had. No creaminess at all. We went with seafood since the waitress talked up the seafood special and the halibut dish. The special was fishy, no flavor at all, 1 out of 5 stars. The halibut was better but 3 stars at best. The Sage Advice cocktail was more simple syrup than it was gin. The french fries were good and so was the crème brulee. We will never be back and do not recommend anyone dine here - it is a...
