I’ll start off by saying I don’t like leaving less than 5 star reviews for small family businesses but let’s just say I have some notes. You can tell that everything is house made. Their Taco Soup was really good, the Minestrone on the other hand was flavorless and very mushy with little to no liquid and the noodles were falling apart, I couldn’t even eat it. Their Caprese Panini had a good flavor but needs more mozzarella and we door-dashed it so it ended up a little soggy (not really the fault of the restaurant). The pastries we ordered were by far the star of the show, the croissant donut was so good, very flaky. Their monkey bread was really good as well! I would’ve given it at least 4 stars but the Minestrone REALLY needs some help. I have a good recipe if the owners want it lol. I will definitely return for their pastries and bread and to try their other soups.
Edit: changed review to 4 stars as owners reply explained a lot and I will definitely be trying the minestrone again soon 😊 Also after writing this review I broke into the loaf of bread I got with my order and it was delicious, my brother said it’s the best bread he’s had in...
Read moreUPDATE: OH! NO! This has become a "I used to go there" place. The chocolate croissant I used to rave about is no more. It is now a over-sweet, cheap chocolate (NOT good dark) and is only drizzled on the outside with a VERY thin brush stroke on the inside. You are better off going out to the Village Bakery in Hayden if you want great pastry, sadly. So close to home, but NOT good enough to frequent anymore. WOW! Welcome back! I finally stopped in this morning at 7:30am and ordered a chocolate-filled croissant. All the way home, the aroma coming from this little bag nearly caused me to stop, pull over and devour. I waited, but didn't want to! The croissant reminded me of a wonderful French bakery in Phoenix. So flaky, tender and still warm. The filling was amazing, dark, and not too sweet. Thank you for this rare treat. Look forward to trying paninis on homemade bread! Very helpful customer service. PS: I suspect reviewer HOLLY was not a customer, but she objected to the sign words. I do not like the 'ammo' remark either, but I try not to base reviews on...
Read moreThere were no smiles as we went up to the counter to order. I felt very unwelcome. I started ordering and they interrupted me mid-sentence and said they would only take my meal order at the cash register.... 5 feet to my left. I clarified that I was also ordering baked goods, which seemed to irritate them further.
The sourdough loaf I purchased was hard as a hockey puck, underbaked, and the garlic inside was raw. This is the second time I've tried their garlic sourdough and it's been like this both times. I don't understand all the positive reviews unless it's from people who have never had a properly baked loaf of sourdough. It gums up on a knife as you try to slice it.
We went in with my two young daughters to eat lunch and the nasty looks we got the entire time from the owner (?) were shocking and made us uncomfortable. My girls were well behaved and we cleaned up after them after we finished. My turkey pesto panini and soup were unremarkable.
The davsont was the only item I enjoyed and I don't think that's reason...
