Caruso's Sandwiches and Artisan Pizza — Restaurant in Coeur d'Alene

If you LOVE overpriced bland food this is the place for you. I ordered a Carusos Salad and aside from the size (it was a LARGE salad) there were few toppings. My salad had a simple list of ingredients and came with few of them. The salad had 8 pieces of petite diced tomatoe... The house vinegar and oil dressing was 9 parts vinegar and 1 part oil. On the plus side there was no sign of wilted lettuce and the salad had a crisp fresh flavor.

We must have caught them after a rush because every table but 3 was dirty (the 3 had people at them). As we at our food 3 separate people worked on cleaning (good job manager for recognizing and fixing the problem after 4 groups came in and whiped down their own table).

The servers were all very aloof and acted as though the customers were more of an inconvenience than anything else.

9 dollars for a salad with next to no toppings and I feel ripped off.

Save yourself some time, money, and have a generally better experience and head to Hayden or Rathdrum for...

paid 14 dollars for 2 half subs and an extra 2.12 for them to put avocado on one of the subs. I get it in the car and look at the sub that supposed to have avocado on it one tiny little piece of avocado. I when back in for them to give me 2 more little tiny slivers this maybe equaled to about 2 teaspoons. so I payed a dollar a teaspoon of avocado. very outrageous. I can get a sub from subway and its a dollar for one large scoop of avocado 1/4 of of an avocado. I make my own sub I get a whole avocado. Tolia the manager told me it was because it is considered a protein. What????? I told her what does that matter I payed for it and the turkey they put 2 big pieces on it. First, I would just like to say I work in the costumer service department. The moment the employee answered the phone she was rushing me. When I was asking my coworker a simple question (whether she wanted the pasta or the sandwich) she asked me very rudely "Would you just like to call me back?" I said "no I would like to order." Then it was just downhill from there. She told me if I did not give her a credit card number she was going to throw away my order. She treated my coworkers and I in a very unprofessional manner. This was my first time dealing with this company and trust me it will be my very last. Not to mention we had a second order to place and this company would not answer their phone for about 15 minutes. Finally my coworker had to use her own cell phone and call.. about four times trying she got someone...
