So initially, I gave this place a five star rating, because I really enjoyed their lavender coffee and the town itself and the position of this business just works really well. I took my family to this place very recently within the last two weeks because I wanted to show them the town itself since I passed by it many times for work.. this was my third or fourth time over here and second time I had a horrible interaction with one of the girls that works there. I don’t know the girls name but she is shorter a little bit bigger build. She was actually really rude to me and my family. She had immense attitude. She even tossed almost a bakery item to my wife while being with my kids as well since this was the second time and much worse than the first time with the same girl, I decided to write an email and even called the business when I called the business a different girl picked up was very nice and gave me the email to the owner/manager of this Place I wrote an email immediately because me and my wife continued to be really shaken by this towards the end of the day that’s how bad of an experience this was we never got a callback nor did we ever get an email back so that’s why decided to write this review I will never step a foot in this place again. I just do not understand how somebody so nasty could be employed by any company at all especially somebody that’s located downtown and represents premium brand. if it was up to me, this woman would be fired immediately. I never wish anyone bad never but universe will take care of this little issue there. It was one of the worst experiences of my entire life and I’ve had a lot of bad experiences as you can all imagine we all do.
I surfed your FB page in hopes to find a pic of the horrendous girl I’m talking about. Here’s her picture from your...
Read moreMy experience today (Tue Nov 21 around 11:10am) is what I came here to comment about:
A woman came in with a plastic baggy of something ground up and had the workers put it in her coffee. She announced loudly that it was "Cow Hide". The workers used the machines and I believe put the cow hide in the regular machines that people get their coffee drinks pressed out of....
The girls working nervously laughed and the woman shouted "you girls kill me. You KILL ME DEAD!"
Okay ... so the woman then started yelling loudly that she was just having a little "P3n!s with (her) coffee!!!". I was there with my mom and we drove over from Spokane and I (a girl) had convinced my mom to try this place. I felt bad for all the men in there that had to listen to that. I feel even worse for the people taking business video calls, the mom with her small kid, and the few on the phone.
In addition, I'm not vegetarian or vegan or whatever... but what in the heck is CDA coffee doing putting ground up animal parts from plastic baggies from customers behind the counter and possibly in machines?
The woman then exclaimed how she was going "back upstairs so she doesn't have to see people".
The workers seemed embarassed... but it's up to them to hold a standard of their guests and the behavior seemed to be allowed.
I heard the workers comment that she brings in so many plastic baggies with stuff to them.
Is that even legal? Health department?!??! What if it was drugs/had fentynal traces?? Like what the heck.... the girls had no idea what was in the bag!!!!
I won't be returning unless I find out that woman isn't allowed to return. She killed the experience. Ugh...

I walked into Coeur d'Alene Coffee Co. hoping for a caffeine hit worth remembering. Instead, I got a masterclass in how to ruin coffee and overcharge for the privilege.
My 12oz caramel macchiato? Forget caramel. Forget macchiato. Just burnt, bitter sludge dressed up with a price tag that screams irony. My wife’s 12oz vanilla latte, extra sweet, arrived with all the sweetness of a divorce settlement. Flat, charred, and joyless.
We gambled on a chocolate croissant, praying pastry would save the day. Instead, it fell apart on first bite, dry, bland, and as forgettable as elevator music. When Starbucks makes a better croissant than you, it’s time to face some hard truths.
$12 for scorched coffee. $7 for a croissant that belongs in witness protection. That’s not coffee culture, that’s extortion with latte art.
We left Coeur d'Alene Coffee Co. without photos, because some things aren’t worth remembering. Call it rustic, call it artisanal, call it whatever buzzword you like. I call it disappointing.
Food, like life, is an adventure, sometimes a thrilling ride, sometimes a slow-moving disaster. This one? More of a tragic misstep, like a tourist ordering fugu from a guy with a twitchy eye. But hey, we eat, we learn, we survive, mostly. Until next time, may your meals be memorable for the right reasons. Join me at Northwest Chef Food Reviews on Facebook for better food...
