We had not the best experience. I'm a spicy food lover but whoever made the food on Sunday really went overboard with the chilli powder. The soup was hot, my sandwich was hot, and the Chipotle mayo probably doesn't need jalepeno and chilli powder. The food was really good but I would have liked to be able to taste the flavor of the meat and not just have my mouth on fire. Even the family next to us was struggling with how hot the food was so I know it wasn't just me. It's was so hot that it makes you struggle in the bathroom the next morning if you know what I mean. Not pleasant. The other thing is I don't feel it is right to serve people food that has been sitting in a warmer for an hour or two; we could tell by how fast the food came out to us (3 minutes from ordering) and also because it was just luke warm and the meat was kind of dried out. The nachos seemed like they were baked and then left in the oven. We would have preferred to wait 10-20 minutes and the food been made fresh.
The beer was just okay; it was lacking in flavor that should be standard in a craft beer. We tried 3 different beers and weren't impressed.
I can't make you change how you make your food but what happened left me wanting to write a review to inform people of the quality...
Read moreCute place! It was surely crowded and we managed to find a table. Even walking up to it, you could hear everyone having a good time. There were groups, families and plenty of couples. Each and everyone looking pretty happy.
Our waitress was effective and fast. She had great suggestions, I ended up with one of my favorites huckleberry cider from One Tree. My husband had of course one of their brews and was completely satisfied.
Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is for the price. We were brew hopping and only needed an appetizer and that ranged about $14. A little steep for us. Drinks were a fair cost, just the food was on the high end side. Now with that said, everyone's plates around us smelled and looked amazing. Maybe next time we will try some and it will be worth it. Still can't wait to go back.
Quick Update
Status changed to 5 stars earned by one of the owners who reached out to me, very quickly in response to my review posting. Love follow up and cheaper suggestions for some appetizers. So thank you for a more phenomenal experience!
5 stars...
Read moreTo be clear: the food and drinks are great at this place, and I think most people would enjoy eating here. The staff is great too. You should go.
Why 4 stars and not 5? Well, I have a condition which makes it so I can't eat spicy hot food anymore. So, when I order food I always check to make sure it isn't hot. I ordered the turkey sandwich, which has "chipotle mayo" on it. I'm used to eating chipotle mayo at other restaurants, and it's normally not "flamin' hot." This stuff burned my mouth, and my guts. My date's meal included the soup of the day, which was also spicy hot, which... was not mentioned on the little table card that had the soup of the day on it.
I hope Daft Badger edits their menu to indicate which menu items that are spicy hot, so we know before we order. It's expensive to eat out these days, and it's no fun to spend a lot of money on food that isn't what you expected. Not to mention the next morning when you are re-enacting everyone's favorite scene from...
