Food: 4, maybe even 5 stars Friendly staff: sure! Service: HELP!
So, I had ordered ahead via the online system 2 days prior, for catering for 10 people. First thing I have issues with is the online system (not the fault of the local franchise). The only information I'm provided in return for having selected all the menu options and handing over my money, is 1) an order number, 2) a link to my order status, and 3) the total amount spent. The link takes me to a graphical representation of the "build status" of my order. Nothing at all about what I ordered so I could come back later and ensure I remembered to order "x" items. BTW, 24 hours later my order is "still in the cue". (might want to hire web developers that know the different between cue and queue).
Order pick up time is scheduled for 11:15am. I walk in the door at 11:09am. No patrons, 2 guys behind the counter. Nice enough guys, but when I announced what I'm there for, a get a somewhat alarmed reaction that they aren't aware of a catering order. Great. One guy walks back, picks up the clipboard for today's orders, and goes "oh yeah, here it is. We'll get started on this right away." To be fair, they did a good job getting it together by 11:21am or so (my business meeting's at 11:30am mind you). I ask if we've got everything like utensils, plates, cups, the cookies. And a receipt - I need a receipt. Glad I asked, because no, we didn't have utensils, or the cookies. 1 of the guys is kind enough to walk me to the car with one of the bags. He mentions to me that they do deliver - which I knew, but imagine waiting until about 10 minutes after I'm supposed to start presenting and there's no food because they obviously don't have a handle on their call-in catering there. So, I get to my customer site, and low and behold we're missing our gallon of ice tea & cups, which I have to let go of because I've got material to cover.
More importantly, I have no receipt for my expenses. 3 hours later, on my way back out of town, I call in. Gentlemen answers the phone, I ask first about the tea. He says kindly, "yeah, sorry about that, we had it on the counter, but forgot to give it to you." I say no worries, but I need the receipt for my expenses. He asks if he can put me on hold while he finishes waiting on a customer. The phone is left off the hook and I listen for the next 9 minutes and 12 seconds. I hear the transaction complete, and then I hear what appears to be just fellow chatter between two employees (I won't divulge the content, but it wasn't work related). I hang up. I dial back, busy signal. Yeah, because the phone is off the hook. I dial back 6 more times over the course of 35 minutes, only to find their phone still off the hook.
It wasn't until 59 minutes later that I was able to get through. I was again offered a very kind apology, and a reason for the delay (they got busy). I wasn't going to question it, I just needed my receipt, which the gentlemen was kind enough to text to me.
Long story short - it seemed to me like one of the guys was stoned when I picked up the food. Given the latter phone experience, I was only further convinced of it.
Great food, and I love Dickey's - but owner/manager, if you want this place to survive and better yet, thrive, you've got to get...
Read moreGreat service, super knowledgeable and helpful couple managing this particular store!! Food is absolutely delicious and very wide selection of down home BBQ delights!! My chicken sandwich combo was savory, the thick slices of chicken breast were so tender, very flavorful! They side dish I got was the potato casserole, it was served piping hot with perfect amount of cheese and other yummy additions!
My brother got the Pulled Pork sandwich combo with potato salad meal. He enjoyed the tender meat, the nice selection of BBQ sauces he got to choose from, and said his potato salad was pretty good too-coming from him, a very picky guy, it says a lot!
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for the food rating is because my brother and I both agreed that their prices are extremely high for the combos and other plates. Also, our sandwiches needed to be served way warmer than they were. Of course my brother and I could of asked that our food be heated up, the couple who were our servers and the chefs, are very cheerful, and I'm sure it would of been just fine!
The problem was my brother and I were time limited, and also extremely hungry, since we both missed breakfast; so waiting on heating up our food to wasn't an option for us-we had to be at at an important appointment across town, so we wolfed our delicious sandwiches down and brought the remaining leftover sides with us, Yee Haw!
Overall, I would TOTALLY recommend this place!! I would recommend it to folks who don't mind spending a bit extra for the quality, genuinely friendly & helpful staff, and the down home...
Read moreI am a doordash driver and have done at least 10 deliveries for this store. today, i was 54 minutes for the order to be fulfilled and 45 minutes in, after patiently waiting I asked how much longer it was going to be, because if it was going to be longer I'd have to get another driver as my shift was almost up. the women behind the counter literally said, "we take priority over customers who aren't lazy and come into the store." I called the customer and they wanted the order cancelled as they had been waiting 1.5 hours since ordering, and the order was supposed to be completed at 6:02pm. i came back for another delivery and the same woman, with blonde hair told me she called upper management of my job and said id be losing my job, and a 5th tier completion (I have no idea what she's talking about.) and she said I'm no longer allowed in the store. and her coworker from earlier was snickering and laughing at me. all while all I did was ask how much longer, and that I couldn't wait any longer she was rude and demeaning and said other things but i will leave it at that. i called doordash, and they said they never received a call from your store. the customer who originally ordered got refunded their money. but to call customers lazy then threaten my job, and the other things she said and her coworker, not okay. and as a normal customer to that location, I won't be back.
also to note, the blonde woman's kids were threatening to throw ice at me. they were running around the restaraunt while she was...
