We are staying in a hotel right next to Elmer's. Have a loved one in the Kootenai Hospital. After a very long and stressful day we stopped in for a quick dinner before heading back to the hospital. We had a 10 minute wait and the restaurant was WAY under half full 🤔🤔 Finally got to our table and asked if my young son and I could sit by the window which was literally 6' from the table they sat us at. The hostess had to go ask if we could move tables. We were informed that 6' away from our table was "closed" 😵💫 I have no idea why I didn't get up and leave at that moment. Ridiculous! Stupid! Petty! It got worse... S..l..o...w...... Service or rather NO service 🤷😂Lady across from us gave us their tables condiments because we waited and waited and waited for our waiter to return with them to no avail... apparently they had a terrible waitress and experience as well 🤐 Food was COLD by the time we started to eat.. Service was beyond awful. Nearly every table had their own wait staff but no one was being waited on!!! Waitor Never checked back with us after serving us.... I had to go to the front to ask for refills on our drinks, napkins etc etc etc etc.. Lots of staff visiting with one another and standing around. Honestly I don't know who runs this place but Hello it's a joke. Rude staff when asked to help, accommodate or actually just in general. Never going to eat here again. Don't waste your time or money. I had to track our waiter down to pay our bill 🥴😬🫨🤨🤔 I have nothing nice to say about Elmer's after our experience. Atmosphere was like visiting an episode of the Twilight Zone 😨 Hopefully you All get it together because I know that I was one of many unhappy customers tonight 😞 Do Not...
Read moreI hate giving not great reviews, but maybe it will help if they know there is an issue. I've been coming here off and on for years. Service gets worse every time. Food has been really hit or miss lately. I understand the world is a little less socialized after lockdowns, and I understand training new staff can be difficult. But when it's not even busy, the bare minimum a server can do is ask how the food is or if everything is okay. This time I came in, food was not great. Server didn't show up the entire meal and I didn't see her between when I started eating and when she dropped of the check. I wanted to let her know that my French toast was extremely undercooked, but she never showed up. And when she dropped off the check and I tried telling her she shrugged it off and said "sometimes they end up like that." No. If your French toast is the consistency of watered-down pudding, they didn't cook it enough. If an over medium egg is sunny side up. They didn't cook it all the way. I understand people make mistakes and wouldn't have even cared or asked for a refund. I just wanted to give some constructive feedback and was basically told to pack sand. And this is not the first time this has happened. It just happened to be a little more rude this time. I worked in the restaurant industry for almost 10 years in both breakfast and dinner restaurants in both back and front of house. I get its not always the best job. We all have bad days, but if you are so distraught that you can't give basic service at your service job, don't show up to work. I sincerely hope their management has a talk with them because I really did enjoy coming here...
Read moreCoeur d'Alene: Update: reached out to by Jason Helmholz updates in parenthesis. Zero if I could/wouldn't recommend. We went for the first and last time today. The salad was the "best part" aside from the few shrimp. I ordered Chicken fried steak meal with salad, and my husband the ribeye steak (I was corrected and this was their prime rib... my husband's order not mine) medium rare with shrimp and a salad. The vegetables were hard, not cooked on both plates. The potatoes were very sticky so that they stuck together in one solid piece, and they didn't taste good. The white gravy was bad and had small chunks of something in it that didn't taste good. My husband's ribeye (prime rib)was rare all the way through and there were no searing marks or browned areas it was all just pink (because it was prime rib there wouldn't be any grill marks as there would be on a steak so this is irrelevant, only added this in as my husband pan seared it when we got home making me think it was a steak). He had a few bites but was not able to continue to eat it. We had to get to go boxes to take it home to finish cooking the steak (prime rib) he was served. There was a pool of bloody liquid on the plate from the few bites he had. Both of our stomachs are upset just minutes after eating there. Staff wasn't too caring/friendly unless it was towards the locals/regulars. (Added a star because of the care Jason has shown in...
