My husband and I tried this place mid day, weekend before last. We were seated promptly, and greeted. This place is All you can Eat. We ordered the Potstickers, and took to the food bar. This is a lot like Mongolian Grill. You grab a bowl, toss in your meats, veggies, noodles, with a separate bar for all of the sauce choices. They have a few more than Mongolian grill. But it seems like some are a little higher in qaulity than MG. Something that made HuHot stand out, was a stand by the food table, with 30+ different recipe cards. Some are for entire dishes (veg+protein+sauce combo) , some were just for sauce combinations to make various, more complex sauces. One of my favorite flavors is Peanut Sauces of all types. MG has a version of it, but it seems weaker. But even if it was stronger, you have no way to make the best use of it. Using the recipe card at HuHot, made for a better, more accurate flavor. Probably the best dish I've ever had at places like these. When you are ready, the cooks have 2 of the round, metal, flat top tables. They're bigger by a lot than MG. They can cook 3 or 4 bowls at once, per table. We were both through under 5 minutes. And the cook chatted with us the whole time. AND it was cooked to perfection. Several people piled up behind us, rather quickly. He was now doing 3 or 4 bowls at once, he realises it and calls for a man in a red shirt to give him a hand. He continued talking for another minute or 2, before coming to help. Comes over, looking annoyed, and quietly says to the cook, along the lines of " You can't handle a couple of people?" (It was about 8 people behind me) the cook gestured at the line, and said nothing. Now, I may be misinterpreting this. But it was part of our experience there, and it involves employees there, so I'm including it. Moving on. The food was a win. Really enjoyed the sauce. All the ingredients were good qaulity, fresh looking. The bars were clean, which is rare, imo. The Potstickers were good, but I didn't care for the sauce dip. The food is $10-$12. Which is worth it if you can eat more than 1 bowl. And you cant take home leftovers. Which sucks. MG allows To go boxes. Lastly, I really liked the decor. (Pics attached here) all in all, it was good food for an average price. And I e joyed the grub, and a few of the employees. I will go back again. Just to be clear, I LIKE Mongolian Grill. I don't recall any real problem with them. I just used it as a...
Read moreWe usually love eating here, but past couple times, NO! the time before, 2 weeks or so ago, the server was overworked & too busy. I’m sure not her fault for being the only server. But she was forgetful, I told her my son has food allergies and she said she’d bring the “special” bowls, so the cooks know. She forgot. I stood with my son while his siblings got food. I had to ask again for the “special” bowls.
Today, we came back. It was the closest one to where we needed to go. The server was horrible & lazy, she did not do anything right! My brother did not want the grill, he just wanted a soup & salad. the sever said no. He asked her, “what? I can’t have a soup AND salad?” she said no again! We received our salads, 2 not 3, and they had both ranch dressing at the bottom. Way over-dressed! We did not even get an option of dressing.
The cooks…OMG the cooks!! Our food was overcooked. They were too busy talking about how some other cook guy quit cause he had too many excuses like getting a bloody nose on why he was constantly late and called into work. All this time, they let our food get dry and complained about my son’s food being too “dry” to cook and he hates it when it comes thru. THEN another cook guy walks in, the chubby one yells at him “ARE YOU WORKING WITH ME TONIGHT?” they continue to talk & cook our food horribly!
The whole time, the server lady would not check on us. We looked around us, no one else’s salad was sitting in a bowl of ranch dressing soup. And actually, the elderly couple sitting close to us had 2 soups and 2 salads. There were only 2 of them!
Usually, we love this place. I like the choices of sauces and the options on what to create. The service these past 2x was very horrible!! I am NEVER going back to that one!!! The front lady tried to be nice and correct her coworkers mistakes but we refused to listen to her. My brother told her no thank you, we’re just never...
Read moreBeing on the go all the time all over the northwest as a real estate agent I have had the opportunity to eat just about everywhere at least once. There are a couple choices for this style of food. If you haven't been you get 2 bowls and need to fully fill them at the food bar as the 2 bowls cook down into 1 plate of food. The food bars have chicken, pork, and beef meat options. I am eating keto so I skipped the noodles and went to the buffet style food bar containing tons of salad style fixings, bean sprouts, etc to fill my bowls. Lastly there are a lot of choices in juices to cook the stuff in. I chose garlic for 1 bowl and ginger for the other filling the bowls completely to make sure they have enough liquid to cook with on the hot plate. Once you drop off the bowls at the hot plate counter you move to the other side and receive your cooked now plated meal in about 3 to 4 minutes. I like that the meal can be keto or vegan or whatever by omitting things that don't fit your diet and the speed of service from order to eating is on par with fast food but much healthier. You can go back for seconds but I didn't need to. 1 plate was perfect. The sauces have a few non spices options and lots of spicy ones that show a 1 to 3 pepper rating on the tag to help you estimate your levels. The inside is quite large so we were seated instantly both of the last 2 times there. If you haven't tried a Mongolian buffet place yet, you won't be disappointed here....
